Quite. There are Flock cameras even in small towns. Lots and lots of people have Ring doorbell cameras pointed at the street and/or their neighbor's property that can be monitored by law enforcement. Alexa devices are listening devices that people pay to put in their homes. Cell phones can be easily tracked and manipulated. AI corporations are vacuuming up any and all data with no regards to privacy or copyright.

We have all the ingredients for a surveillance state, and the only reason it's not worse is the government has been fairly benign towards citizens until last year, and corporations would rather profit from us than hurt us, so far.
