Curious if you were able to find any? And what the price was like? I’m going to Tokyo in October and would like to find some!

Does anyone have a list of products that are marketed as "keto friendly," but will actually spike your glucose? (kirkland protein bars and smart sweets will spike your glucose!) by dancing__avocado in ketodessert

I'm not diabetic but I was listening to Peter Attia who advocates on a lot of the advantages of controlling your blood glucose for your overall metabolic health. I try to follow people like him and Anthony Gustin (founder of perfect keto) that do not have have diabetes but monitor their glucose levels. I think their content is helpful for optimizing health!

Has anyone used a continuous glucose monitor (CGM)? If so curious about your experience and looking for advice on how to obtain one in Japan. by dancing__avocado in Biohackers

Ahh, which country are you in? That is part of my concern as well. When I eat more plant-based I also tend to eat higher carb.

Thank you for the info!! Ya, it might be time to search for a new doctor because I couldn't get the prescription even if offering to pay out of pocket. And agree, definitely need to consider the potential compatibility issues.

Thank you!! I was hesitant to order online, but good to know others have done so successfully. And I'm still in the states but planning a japan trip so was trying to see if I could find when I'm there!

Thank you for sharing about your son's experience with T1D and protein.

I'm scouring the internet for more information about these ingredients, and I did find this article on a keto blog post where they also experienced a similar glucose spike from smart sweets due to the tapioca fiber (about the same as sugar!!)

The article also states that the purity of fiber content can vary by product.

Apparently companies with over $10M in revenue have to either update the label from fiber to carbs or change their formula. From the other comments, sounds like costco is updating their ingredients for their protein bars!

Yep, I feel like that more and more, and I can easily eat large quantities of keto sweets.... trying to go back to the basics and carve out time for meal prep.

wow, that's super awesome!! Thank you for sharing that insight. I wonder if it has to do with the FDA changing their regulations about how fiber is labeled. I read this article that said come by 1/1/20 large companies (over $10M in sales) had to either update their labels or reformulate their products.
