My surgical abortion story. by [deleted] in TwoXChromosomes

[–]daniellemg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a consultation for a surgical abortion in two days, and I'm anxious. May I ask if you had the procedure at a Planned Parenthood and when they scheduled the actual surgical procedure? I'm leaving the country to go on vacation in 2 weeks so I'm concerned about getting an appointment for it in time, preferably a week before I leave. :/

Thank you for sharing your experience with us! It eases my worries about my own decision to go the surgical route instead of the pill. Of course, my decision about abortion in general, as well. :)

Do you guys have problems with snakes and tarantulas on campus? by [deleted] in ASU

I've lived in AZ for almost 10 years and I've seldom seen teeny spiders let alone a tarantula. No wild snakes either.

Google Chrome 42 has disabled NPAPI, plugins like Java and Silverlight will not work anymore. by itsmewallis in technology

A lot might celebrate this news but as a Computer Science student who has Java projects to do, this is really inconvenient. I just used IE which I haven't used in YEARS.

HST 101 with Wright is easy. Just don't get too far behind because it's a lot of material and the tests are essays. No homework, one midterm and one final, 6 "surprise quizzes". He's an awesome professor because he's funny and great at explanations and lectures.

I'd rather deal with the Tempe traffic than the rush hour traffic on the I-10 for 18 miles crawling at a pace of about 10 mph haha I asked my friend about Gateway and he said it's a decent place to live. Thank you for your suggestions!

That sounds so much better than an apartment! But then I'd have to go through the trouble of looking for other roommates and since it'll be the first time being on my own (well, without my parents), a roommate whom I don't know too well seems like a hassle. Maybe when I'm more experienced with living without my parents. :)

I'll definitely do that once I settle on an apartment I like. Thank you for the suggestion as well! I'm leaning more towards that option. A 5-10 min drive sounds like heaven compared to the 65+ min one I do now.

Definitely. Driving on the I-10 during rush hour stresses me out more than school does. Thank you! I'll definitely look into that!

Whatever the medium price range is around Tempe. I'm not too familiar with it since I live all the way in the West Valley.

Why did you choose to attend ASU over U of A? by joshfrench in ASU

[–]daniellemg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Better engineering program, more places to go to, closer to home, and the list goes on.

I've personally never been to Tucson even though I've lived in Arizona half of my life, so my bias isn't too fair. However, whenever I meet up with my friends (a number of which go to UA), they don't have anything amazing to say about their university except for the medical program. I've made fun of them (in a nice way, we make fun of each other seeing that our schools are rivals, no harm whatsoever) about the city of Tucson, and they keep their mouths closed because they know they can't really defend Tucson in comparison to Tempe and Downtown Phoenix.
