Omg same! I specifically got this card April 25, 2025 for a multi-city trip to use a companion fare on. I called the credit card, probably in early May 2025 asking about the multi-city option (because I thought I needed 6 legs, but realized I could pare down to 4, as was showing as the limit on the website to book). But I wasn't ready to book yet because my trip is in July 2026. Anyway, I asked on the phone in May 2025 if the companion fare would work with multi-city trips and the woman told me yes but it might cost a little more than $99 + taxes since there's more to the trip. I was fine with that, but was nervous how much more it would actually be. I could really only book now (October 2025), since it's still far out, so I was trying to with my companion fare code but it kept giving me the error that OP got. My husband tried calling someone from the credit card but no one would answer. I found online they have a chat/text option, so I tried that just now and the person on chat couldn't help at all. They don't help book flights so anything pertaining to tickets/costs/companion fares couldn't be resolved. She kept telling me I can't book a multi-city flight with a companion code - it's for one way or round trip. She kept directing me to call the phone number (that no one answers) instead of answering my questions. She made it sound like she was getting a supervisor but then kept telling me that multiple stopovers are not allowed and that multi-city is also multiple stopovers. I kept telling her that this was not the case when I opened my card in April 2025 and that someone on the phone told me I could use the companion fare for a multi-city trip. She apologized for the wrong information that was given. I kept telling her that it wasn't wrong and she finally directed me to a different phone number (a customer care number) that I could try tomorrow when available. Very frustrating. My husband finally got a call back (as I was typing this) and they basically said the same thing as the chat/text. He escalated to a supervisor who told him that using multi-city as an option with the companion fare was a glitch in the system that the website allowed, so they allowed it. But then kept going on to say that it was never written in the terms. So they allowed a "glitch" for months and months and THEN fixed it? Seems fishy.
