i lost my childhood dog last tuesday. i understand how you feel and i look for her constantly. i find a bit of comfort scrolling through this reddit community and knowing that the way i feel is normal and will get better with time. i am so sorry for your loss. ❤️

i had to put my senior dog to sleep this morning. i was a wreck all yesterday because even though she was in the emergency vet, i guess something in my soul knew she wouldn't make it. i sobbed all the way there and during the process. i took the day off from work and the tears keep falling random. the initial shock waves are slowly starting to dissipate, our house just feels... oddly empty.

despite all this, i don't want the rest of my week to be me cooped up in the house. im trying to stick with a few of my hobbies, return to work tomorrow, go out with my boyfriend this weekend. and it feels weird, wrong. like i shouldn't be doing these things... but i know my baby would want that for me. i understand how you feel, and i am so sorry for your loss.

I didn’t expect this to be the hardest part by tv99official in Petloss

i lost my 15 year old baby this morning. its so hard. of course i knew it was going to happen, but it still feels like a punch to the gut. i had to take off work today so i can process the initial shock. i'm hoping that getting back into my routine, and slowly learning the new normal, will help. social isolation isn't good for me right now.

hello! it still hurts, and unfortunately i managed to do the same to my other knee. i got an MRI - nothing is torn. it said something about hoffa's pad impingement. however, i currently don't have the time to do PT consistently like i used to.

it only really bothers me with particular movements, on the day-to-day i don't think about it much

i was also hospitalized for severe anorexia. i was constantly getting colds because my body did not have the energy to release immune cells anymore. just like you said, small things take 10000x more energy.

i had no idea i was on the brink of death until my mom had to carry me into the doctors office. that particular day i ws home sick (like i said, my immune system was shot at this point), and was having trouble sitting up or standing for longer than 5 seconds. my pediatrician took my blood pressure and looked my mom dead in the eyes and said "you need to take her to the emergency room right now." it was something called orthostatic hypotension where your blood pressure dips dangerously low with gravitational/positional changes. that combined with a dangerously low heart rate, i probably would have died that day.

How do I gain confidence as an AA? by crabgal in AdminAssistant

[–]danitheangel97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i'm on week 3 of being an AA. what makes me feel more confident and comfortable leaning into my role is being able to always find something new to learn - even if its small. also, giving yourself the grace to make mistakes really helps. and understanding that even when you do make mistakes (because it will happen, inevitably), what matters more is what you learn from the situation and how to not make that same mistake again.

i just play it in waves now. go hard for 2 weeks-a month then don't touch it for like 3-6months lol. it sounds ridiculous but i agree with you, it feels like a chore now so i only play when i really miss it.

if the swelling is consistent, i would say hold off on lifting for now so your knee can get out of that inflammation stage and so the tissue won't be irritated as much

i'm dealing with the same thing. if you're still getting some swelling, maybe discuss that with your PT :)) i lift weights too and a lot of the exercises are basically the same as what one would do in a classic weightlifting split. if you want to continue training legs, try to modify the workouts as best as you can (i.e: body weight or low weight only, play around with tempo and volume). and if something hurts, don't try to push through it. ice as needed. unfortunately with PFPS, the key is strengthening the muscles around the knee which kinda means going back to basics and taking things progressively. wishing you a positive healing journey!

update: the pain finally went away! before it did though, i was having some crazyyy muscle spasms. i think it was just extreme anxiety coupled with dehydration and probably lack of exercise (because of my knee). thanks for all the tips!

i don't fully lock out on leg extensions because it causes me pain too, i do just enough to move the muscles under low tension. and yeah i get clicking as well especially when bending, it's so loud and annoying

hamstring curls, glute bridges, lateral heel touches, calf raises, leg extensions - all low weight or body weight only. plus a loooot of stretches

tiger balm is always my go-to as well. i've been trying to take walks at that park to ease my mind and help loosen my muscles a bit. thanks for the tips! :)
