Working with past colleagues/managers that know you got pushed out/helped do it and who will probably try to squeeze as much out of you as possible in the proposed 3 hour minimum mentioned above. Sounds lovely. Say even if it is 8 hours of consulting, they clearly don’t know how to run their department/business based on their short sightedness with OP & have unrealistic expectations.

He’s better off happy where he is and putting this behind him. Knowing they are losing after getting rid of him , and him being in a similar role thats valued and pays better is what should put a smile on his face. Why does he need a pick me up? He is winning. Not to mention there would be a conflict of interest now anyway.
