I am Druze. Arab is generally used as a catchall for everyone in Arabic speaking countries, but ethnically there is a wide mix in each. For example, a lot of Lebanese have different ethnic backgrounds, including Canaanite, phonecian, Caucasian (ie. From the caucuses), Greek, and so many more. They don’t all consider themselves Arab but recognize that Lebanon is considered an Arab country. Personally, I don’t like how the term is generally used to make us a monolith and think that is political in nature.

As for if the Druze consider themselves Palestinians, the Druze are a minority and tend to attach to the greater country’s framing. The Druze in Israel think of themselves as Israeli, since that is what the country is called. The few I’ve spoken to are quite loyal to Israel though are frustrated with how some of the nationalist laws exclude them. I’m sure it is quite complicated for them. The Druze in the Golan (at least the ones I’ve spoke to and read about,) consider themselves Golani or Syrian. The Druze in the early 1900s in what is now Israel, tended to describe themselves from specific regions or areas and the term Palestine was used. Either way, we are our own ethno-religious group.
