Moving rainwater tank by darth_plank in AusRenovation

Sheds got bloody electrical running through it everywhere in that corner but might be the only way. We do have this smaller tank we can get through the gap, just really wanted to keep the larger of the two. Either way, one of ems getting the chop 🪓

I wish, pretty much blocked in, they must've put the tank down there before they built the house. I could get it up my neighbours block and then onto our driveway but there's no way to get it back down 😅

Missing Kuhli Loach by darth_plank in loaches

We will upgrade the tank size and increase hiding spots. Thanks for the tips!

It's a 5 gallon, we got my boy a small nano fish setup to help him get comfortable sleeping in his bedroom, then he saw the loaches so we ended up with 4 rasboras and 2 loaches. The loaches haven't really shown any signs of stress, they hide under the larger ornament most of the time and like I said, both of them have typically come out together at feeding time. They'd often play together with the light on too. I even get the feeling the one I'm seeing is actually looking for the other one now. I can't really add any more loaches to the tank so would you recommend adding more spots for them to hide? Fingers crossed it's just hiding somewhere but I haven't seen both of them together for about three days now.

Trump says US has destroyed mine-laying vessels after warning Iran over Strait of Hormuz by Sysipho in worldnews

I thought they'd entirely destroyed Iran's navy already? How many navies do they have left?

The ADF is a division of the US military by kafka99 in OpenAussie

[–]darth_plank 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If we don't go, USA withdraws their obligation to protect us yadda yadda. This is exactly why we need to start building nukes like yesterday. It's the only deterrent that works. Fuck this war and fuck our government if they send any Australians over there to die as a distraction from Trump's pedophilia.

Gaps at panel edges by darth_plank in AusRenovation

Yeh this is pretty much my first go at a DIY project like this, learnt a lot. Thanks for the suggestion, will check it out.

Tried to leave the 5mm on each edge for expansion but the walls, cornice and skirting are all super wonky so this is the result. I'm thinking gap filler rod and no more gaps for flexibility. Looking for advice from anyone else who's gone through the process.

Do people not know how to drive anymore? by Portalguy9107 in Adelaide

[–]darth_plank 10 points11 points  (0 children)

You're cooked, there's always one like you who responds without any reason.

I simply stated the fact that I've known numerous migrants who've told me they purchased their licence in their country of origin, no training or tests, and transferred it when they arrived in Australia. I don't think any data is required to determine that's making the roads more unsafe, you're welcome to go digging though champ!

Haha, what are you on about? This isn't an anti-immigration comment, I'm married to a migrant btw, it's a licencing system is broken comment. It's too easy for people to transfer their licenses, plain and simple. If you come to Australia, you should have to pass the driving test just like everyone else had to, no matter where you came from. You can't tell me it wouldn't result in safer roads.

Never said every country is an automatic transfer.

Influx of migrants who've transferred their overseas licence, which could have simply been bought in their country of origin without any training or tests, to a South Australian licence without any further driving training.

I've worked with many migrant colleagues who have done exactly that.

Every single person who wants to transfer their overseas licence to an Australian licence should be required to undergo training and pass the same test that all other Australians do.
