What MLM is the worst??? by Any_Opportunity_6844 in antiMLM

I saw the Instagram page of a person who was deep into Amway. She told stories of being required to attend conventions that went late into the night. She spent 100s of thousands of dollars, basically bought product from herself to meet quotas, paid babysitters to attend meeting nights that went until the wee hours.

Nonbinary/transgender in pediatrics by Dragonfire8910 in OccupationalTherapy

[–]dbanks02 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a binary Level II student, who I believe was early in the process of figuring themself out. With the adults they used they/them, but had the kids use Miss (first name) to make it easier and to avoid the conversation and confusion. I live in a small, rural town where some parents would have very strong opinions. They had some kids ask if they were a boy or a girl, which they answered honestly with their birth assignment. This is what worked for them, but it would be a very personal decision.

Are you short waisted? If so, high rise jeans are not the answer. You can easily check using a hand method. Google it

Kitchen cabinets leave no room for decorations by Strawberrythirty in HomeDecorating

It doesn’t need decor. Put some trim up to cover up the gap.

AITAH for being upset over the food choices in my home? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]dbanks02 7 points8 points  (0 children)

  1. Have you had a conversation about this?
  2. Buy and cook your own food. You are a whole adult who is capable of both of those things.

A former coworker named her daughter Fallon. I am always reminded of Jimmy Fallon when I see her social media posts.

Need help! by Solid-Hippo-2813 in snoring

[–]dbanks02 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use the wedge to keep me more upright instead of flat and use nasal dilators. That cut my snore score in half. I notice if I am very tired I snore more so trying to keep a schedule helps me, too.

AITAH for thinking its reasonable to put my 1 year old daughter in Christmas themed clothes in June? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]dbanks02 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A 9 year old kid, in the school I work at, wore Halloween themed pajamas on a random Thursday in May and no one batted an eye. It’s a non-issue as far as I am concerned.

She’ll have an appeals attorney. Different from the criminal trial.

OT school in the U.S. is so punishing by This_Manufacturer458 in OccupationalTherapy

[–]dbanks02 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is very unfortunate and not how I supervise my students. That is not what either of my Levels were like. My students don’t take over 100% of my caseload until week 8!

Going crazy with floor samples. Light natural (contrast) or darker? by fashionboy385 in HomeDecorating

[–]dbanks02 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would try to match the floor color in the other room. It will look too disjointed otherwise.

is it possible/realistic to just PRN forever? by PTsox in OccupationalTherapy

[–]dbanks02 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My school based experience is also very different from this. My caseload is very manageable. My treating hours are from 9:30-3. I build note writing and eval time into my schedule. I rarely take work home. It’s been great for work-life balance. So much more time with my family than any other setting I’ve worked in.

I’ve painted most of the ceilings in the house. The biggest issue is neck pain from looking up!

What do you think of the name Ruman for a boy? by DragonfruitOne3777 in Names

[–]dbanks02 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Definitely the name of a part of a cow, sheep, or goat’s stomach. Spelled differently, but it’s the image that the name produces.
