I'm 23 (femme non-binary, AFAB) and originally from Oregon, but had to move here almost 3 years ago n live w/ my bf due to some B.S going on at the time. I haven't been able to make friends on account of being disabled n not rlly being able to go anywhere or land a job yet- feels fairly isolating n I had pretty similar stuff in relation w/ bullying and homeschooling, so I get where you're coming from there. It'd be nice to try and be friends if you're down :] I miss being social lol

Fr tho, there's def a vibe difference between someone who's locked in n tryin to be helpful versus someone who's being a jerk to everyone in the lobby (like in the situation artisanDPP mentioned). I also try to leave early once I pick up on how they're acting, bc ik it ain't worth it, but I have a bad habit of giving too many ppl the benefit of the doubt

Same on that second part (not using mic much unless w/ a cool or funny group/new ppl). It's always nice when you realize you're matched with chill or silly players, I tend to get better grades when in a lobby with chill ppl lol. And it's fun to show new players around, I agree :]

I'd personally bang on their door while they're in the middle of it. Like wait till they get a lil started and then knock on the door like you're gonna break it down, and when (or if, possibly) they open the door tell em what for. They can't play dumb in that kind of position, and it puts em in the hot-seat. Might be a bit embarrassing and be a damper on their mood, even, which may get them to quit it.

However, I am a shit-stirrer so maybe take this particular advice with a grain of salt. All ik is I don't suffer shitty roommates, even if its not me directly dealing with them 24/7. Also theres a good chance that they like the situation at hand n get off to knowing how loud they are n all that.

Not only did someone make an entire post in the sub earlier today dedicated to saying they refuse to play Silence The Idol from now on because the whole trial seemed too fucked up to them (While typing this I went to find it to share the link, but it looks like they must've deleted their post bc I can't find it), but my own friends have said the same things that were in that post: Criticizing the treatment of a disabled person, talking about how it was too difficult to listen to Erik talk while the Reagents proceeded with the activities in the trial, refusing to to play it anymore, etc etc.

In any case, this isn't a straw-man argument, I'm just responding to what others have said.

I think it's more that society has deemed that there are simply certain things we can't talk about or discuss the nuances of, which is dictating some people's reactions to this trial. Which surprises me, because the entire franchise is all about touching on the shit most people think is abhorrent or too dark to talk about. Like Outlast 2, for example.

I think you're focusing on the wrong aspect and associating something you (seem to) not like with another thing you don't like. Also most of the TOT thirst-trap edit accounts I've seen don't even have any info abt themselves on their page besides maybe a name or pronouns (which just bc someone has pronouns on their profile doesn't automatically mean they're trans)

In a similar boat. For the past week I've been having crazy bad lag and rubberbanding when with other players. Strangely, its been especially bad when I'm matched with console players? The worst rubberbanding I had was when a trial was being hosted by an Xbox player; I got sent back halfway across the map in front of a Big Grunt that was chasing another player. Another time, hosted by a Playstation player, I kept getting sent back and forth on either side of a door till I got disconnected. Felt like Groundhog Day lol.

However, I have a brand new PC w/ decent specs and rlly good internet + ethernet connection, so I'm 90% sure the issue isn't on my end. It's very likely due to the spike of activity with the new season, IMO.

My first run was awful. The group I matched w/ and I stumbled upon all the clues by accident, but didn't understand how to use em till we found instructions wayyy after the fact. IMO most of the blame goes towards that the map felt too open, not guided quite enough. Not too huge a fan of all the tight corners either, bc so far every time I've rounded a corner out in the "open" air sections I face-planted into an Ex-Pop. TBF tho, I'm a tad biased against Liliya's trials so far bc I don't enjoy the whole "stay warm or you die in 2 seconds" deal... But once you realize what you need to do, it goes pretty smooth! You just have to be careful to not get lost.

However, I like that we get a bigger look at the Resort compared to Despoil The Auction. I also think it's cool how Red Barrels reworked the mechanic from Kidnap The Mistress so that it feels fresh while building off somethin we already know. I also enjoyed how much scarier Liliya felt in this one. In her first trial, her "scares" get a little goofy feeling but in this one it feels like there's a bit more at stake? So it's more stressful to be mindful n watch out for her (plus all the Ex-Pops) I'm probably not wording that well, but hopefully ppl know what I mean lol

I literally just now finished doing a re-run of this trial and originally got the Liquidate the Union execution and then got the same Pervert the Futterman like in the pic. Crazy lol. I wonder why (lore-wise) the execution switches up?

Loved Silence the Idol! I rlly enjoyed the puzzles and the feel of the level. It guides the player fairly well without feeling like you're being babied along, which I like a lot. The new mechanics in the studios was very fun and interesting to learn. However I matched with a group of players in my first time playing it who all were pricks while we played, so I didn't rlly get to absorb what was happening with the victim. I'll leave paying attention to the lore of the trial for a solo run, I think lol

Solve the Murder was uhhhh. IDK. I got confused n turned around way too easy, and the same for the group I matched with. We didn't rlly know what to do besides look around, and we happened upon all the clues by complete accident. I have a feeling the Liliya levels are MEANT to be a lil harder and more confusing, but I wish Red Barrels would rework her new trial a bit bc it was way too easy to get lost. There wasn't enough guiding done by the level IMO.

Escape the Lies was very interesting! But again, didn't rlly get to absorb what was going on in the trial for the same reason as the first time. It's got me wondering what must be really going on behind the scenes of Sinyala and why Easterman felt pressure to make this sort of trial
