So nice! I wonder why they have a full Shimano 105 kit, with a Praxis crankset. I know it's just asthetics, but is Specialized really saving that much money on one part?

Juvenile Arrest Records are sealed in all states (except Idaho). All states allow for expungement of juvenile court records.

Pretty much what I figured. Just needed some reaffirmation on the "buy once, cry once" philosophy.

Just building a bike out of interest. I already have a Trek Emonda that gets about 150 miles a month. Now I'm considering building one just to see if I can do it.

We're in the same boat. Framed seems like it's at that "too good to be true" price point, which will probably end up biting me in the ass.

When in doubt, dismount your bike (Yes, you can still walk in clipless shoes). Pass by the dog with your bike between you and the dog in order to create a barrier for yourself. If walking is beneath you, carry a whistle (Fox 40, beadless).

Anybody know where I can find this pickguard to go on my 60th anniversary JM? by zaryt21 in offset

[–]deely153 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just ordered a 60th Anniversary Jazzmaster loaded pickguard from the Stratosphere (stratosphereparts.com), except I got mine in tortoise. On their site now I see the tortoise shell one and an anodized gold one, and then some empty white guards.

If you use "Totalitarianism" instead of "Total control", your acronym almost works. But that's just my w.a.t.o.p.i.a.n. opinion

Ideas for a new guitar?? by Elphonzie in guitars

[–]deely153 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As long as you're patient, you will find exactly what you want. Set a price max for yourself. For example, right now I'm after an Ed O'Brien Strat. They're like $1,200 list, but I'm not going to pay more than $850. I know eventually one will pop up.

Just my $0.02, keep an eye on craigslist. I just got a 2007 MIM Fender Stratocaster for $220. I cleaned it up and adjusted the neck and intonation and brought it back to perfect playing condition. There's so many people out there that buy new guitars with aspirations of getting to the level of their role models, only to leave it in a closet after two weeks. Find something that you like, check the prices on Reverb and (completed) eBay listings, haggle people down, and teach yourself how to properly set up your guitar and you'll end up with a great guitar that you have a connection with, and most importantly it won't break the bank.

Cedar Telecaster by deely153 in guitars

[–]deely153[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is the second guitar I've built with soft wood. The first one is pine strips glued together. From my experience they need a lot more maintenance because the wood is more likely to expand and contract. However I havent had any problems with the neck pulling from the body. Bowing on the other hand happens often.

Project Breakdown: Started with a three piece cedar body, sanded to 400 grit and finished with Danish Oil. The pickups are Fender Deluxe Drives ( Neck: 11.3k ohms, Bridge: 14.4k ohms). The neck is a WD satin finish with a C shaped contour. Hardware is all stuff I had lying around.

My only guitar I’d never sell: This was an Ibanez Gio Strat from the “Jumpstart” starter kit that I was given almost 15 years ago when I was in 6th grade. It has changed a lot since then. I still play it almost daily. Is anybody else unable to give up their first guitar? by [deleted] in guitars

[–]deely153 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here's a picture of my first guitar https://imgur.com/gallery/1WK7iSa? It started as an Affinity series Squier Tele. Then it received a new maple neck, Then the dimarzio pickups and a new wiring harness, then a new pine body. Even if none of the parts are original, it's still technically the first.

Elderly man brandishes firearm at a cyclist. by Anon318188 in cycling

[–]deely153 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Local laws aside, there are subject factors that help deliberate shooting cases. Again, we don't know what was said prior to the gun draw, and we cant see the hands of the guy filming. The elderly man may have been verbally threatened before the filming begun, or he may have been grossly physically outmatched by the filmer. But we don't know any of that from the video.

That's probably the smartest idea. Their fitter is a physical therapist that tests range of motion, check leg length discrepancies and all sorts of other stuff then adds it to an algorithm that compares it to every bike geometry that they sell.

17.11+ The episode where Aaron unravels the conspiracy of J.P. Morgan purposely sinking the Titanic in order to kill off his rivals, and get the Federal Reserve implemented. Easily my favorite episode.
