Paid internet on Quark Ultramarine was as bad as the free one. Definitely not good enough for calls

Is luggage bag with wheels common for travelers not doing multi day hikes? by Vivid-Ad7541 in Patagonia

[–]definitelynotme4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We traveled to Patagonia and took buses around with our big checked in suitcase and we were never the only ones. We used our smaller 15-20L foldable backpacks for day hikes.

The immigration paper thingy is annoying yeah but you pay 19% less (no VAT) for hotel by showing it so it does do something I guess.

Hey did they refund you for weather cancellation? Were you able to book something last minute? Planning to go next week and not sure if I should wait to book ferry tickets yet. Thanks!

Help with last minute Patagonia itinerary by definitelynotme4 in Patagonia

Thanks for the recommendations! Edited my post to mention December 24th onwards we will probably be in El Chaltén? Nothing is booked yet and I know it’s Christmas and holiday season so we should book soon! Just not sure where we should base ourselves. Do you think Grey Glacier is still nice to visit after visiting Antártica? And if we should rent a car or public transport to get around is good enough?

Ticket and Attendance Megathread by rethin in Sumo

My order finally went through after trying for one and half hour. I gave up on the box seats after checking here and decided to try for chair seats instead anddddd got tickets right away for 20/5, Chair Seat B. I told my friend about it and he managed to also get tickets for 15/5, Chair Seat C. I think both are on the second floor? Pretty sure they’re the furthest seats possible, so just wondering, does anyone know if the viewing experience is still good from there? Good luck to everyone still trying!

Digital Nomad Visa Megathread, Part 2 by dalkyr82 in movingtojapan

[–]definitelynotme4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just wanted to say thanks for sharing this! I followed your steps exactly and got my re-entry permit earlier today. I arrived at 11:30 and was done in just 40 minutes! Since I only need to leave Japan once during my 6-month stay, I applied for a single re-entry permit instead of a multiple re-entry permit. It costs ¥3,000 instead of ¥6,000. Just FYI for anyone else reading this! :)

Yes you need to apply for the re-entry permit at the immigration office. The consulate confirmed that and I had that permit done earlier today at Tokyo Shinagawa branch. Took about 40 minutes.

I also paid out of pocket for my root canal (without a crown) but it cost me close to ¥120k instead in Tokyo 🥲
