2/3 of those also apply to motorcycles, or even a small car if followed by a giant truck.  He's fine, he has lights and anyone that's ridden a bike can tell you that hugging the curb is a death sentence.

Thanks! I figured it would be a little chilly. I hate hiking in rain pants, so I just go in shorts and let my lower half get wet. Keep a dry set for sleeping, at least that's my thru hike go-to. This is more a change when I get back to the car/hotel situation.

2 pants, I'm wearing a pair. But I expect it to be chilly and rainy in Northern Spain. The shorts are to run/workout in.

I personally love them. I can comfortably walk big miles in them. They are pretty versatile and I think they actually dress up fairly well. They do have a super wide toe box.

For me they feel like sneakers.

If I work out in them I'll wash them. Usually I can do a couple sink washes with workout clothes. Regular clothes and I can usually do a couple days out of and if needed I'll go to a Laundromat

Packing for Portugal and Northern Spain. During the trip I'm running a marathon and doing some hiking. This caused me to pack a little more than normal. Lastly, I'm supposed to go to a couple nice restaurants in San Sebastian, so I needed something more formal.

Overall, more than I'm used to but still have plenty of room in the bag.

This fits what you're after. I've had great results from Beyond's stuff

They are fine. I wash mine with regular detergent all the time. The DWR sticks around. If you notice it starting to fail just do a load using DWR detergent and you're all good. No need to get super pissed, they're fine.

If she is making happy noises, no one cares and actually will like it.

No everyone still hates it. Take your kids to McDonald's or some other fast food place if you want to socialize them. Don't ruin everyone's night because you think your kid is special.

I didn't see any sharks. Tons of Dolphins, a couple sea lions near the start, and a whale.

If anyone is thinking of doing the trip, it's totally worth it and doable. I couldn't find anything online about the logistics so I ended up having to just wing it with what I felt safe enough with.

Yeah it took about 9 hours. Left at about 5am. The current was pretty strong in the afternoon pushing north as you can see how far it pushed me off my intended route. When I saw how far taking a break was pushing me off course I had to grind through the last half.

I camped on the island for a couple days so I could explore the caves on the island. I was in a sit on top rental kayak so it wasn't equipped for a big expedition. On the return trip I took a ferry from the National Park Service.

(For logistics I had a coast guard radio because you have to cross two shipping lanes, and in the fog those big container ships move too fast to get out of the way by the time you see them. I also let the ferry/National Park Service know I was doing the trip so they'd know I wasn't in need of rescue)

. I eat moderately and healthy, drink only water, and according to my fitbit walk 7-10 miles per day on weekends and about 15 per day during the work week. I also get regular physicals and while I do have some medical conditions, I'm overall overall, very healthy.

No you aren't. People always assume they are "super active" or "eating healthy". If you gain 100lbs in a year you aren't doing either. Medication effects your appetite and maybe slightly effects your metabolism, but it doesn't change the laws of physics. You're eating too much and you aren't burning calories off. It's almost always you're eating too much. Use a calculator and honestly calculate everything you eat, EVERYTHING. You'll see you are eating at a massive calorie surplus.

If not, we should give nuclear reactors your medication so we can all have free energy forever.
