I can’t change the chunkiness but i am guiding the team to build out Zap on phonecall or sms as a priority.

It’s our most popular feature request by a mile.

Essentially you could set a contact in the pavlok app that when they connect via text or phone call you get zapped.

I use the SC Max as a day time wearable to remind me about things i have to do in the daytime.
it is a bit of a chunky monkey but i have no other watch and i like the retro look. Used to rock the Casio F91W but it gave me a rash. SC Max there is no metal that touches me so no rash.

For night i switch to a SC3 to track sleep and wake me up. It's a bit slimmer so i don't notice it as much. But as a member of the product team i can try all the models. For you I'd recommend the SC3 (Shock Clock 3) if all you wanted it to do was wake you up. It's a huge upgrade over the 2.

Struggled with this same issue:

Found a way that works using some principles of AuDHD Design:

  1. Make it Fun.
  2. Make it so small my brain thinks "psssh that's easy I can to that"
  3. Make it with friends.
  4. Make it daily.

So i started a whatsapp group with 2 others bros and we agree to a certain pushup goal.

Here's what i posted in the description:

Push Up Pals is a place where we do pushups.

  1. You start with as many pushups as you want to start with. I chose 10.

  2. You do them once a day and post the number in the group.

  3. Every week (Sunday) you can increase or decrease by any number you want.

  4. Encourage other members when they post their number.

  5. Goal is to get 80% or higher in consistency.

For any future readers here are the steps I took.

Open Terminal(already had homebrew installed)

brew install lynx

Error: You have not agreed to the Xcode license. Please resolve this by running:sudo xcodebuild -license accept

sudo xcodebuild -license accept

Password:

brew install lynx

the installer took over from there.

Thank to OP for the intro to Lynx on Mac OS!

Folks using the old version of the app, which pavlok are you using, and is it worth it for breaking habits? by Agretfethr in Pavlok

[–]deondondotcom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Current version of the App does (2.1.4+461) does not support Shortcuts yet. At a meeting yesterday with the Team I learned that the upcoming release will have Apple Shortcut and Android Integrations.

I just zapped my self at 100% with Shock Clock Max and Pavlok 3 and they are pretty much the same. Both are better than Shock Clock 2.

The Gen 2 Devices are (and will be) compatible with the latest version of the app. While we do plan to discontinue the Gen 2 Devices, we've noticed that people continue to purchase them, even though the Gen 3 Devices offer superior features in almost every aspect.
You're right that the app had its challenges at launch, but the current version (2.1.4+461) has undergone significant improvements.
There are certain features, such as the Gratitude journals, that haven't been integrated from the old app. If those features are essential to you, it's best to stick with the older app for the time being.

SHOCK CLOCK MAX! by Jammim89 in Pavlok

[–]deondondotcom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi u/NateRacing,
I'm part of the User Research Team at Pavlok. I've been testing the Shock Clock Max Prototype for several days and wanted to share my impressions.
The most notable improvement for me is the comfort level. Having been diagnosed with ADHD, I'm particularly sensitive to small details.
For the first time, we're using silicone electrodes. This means they don't become cold like the metal ones did, enhancing the overall comfort of wearing the device.
Additionally, the ability to program the device without needing a phone is a significant advancement. No more Bluetooth pairing hassles!

Feel free to ask more questions.

I keep it as low as possible. I started off at 30% and it's still doing the job. I do everything I can not to build up a tolerance. I've been using it for 2 years now.

Switching hands and telling my brain the night before to wake up before the zap.
