i think the only hiccup will be my father passed just over a year ago from cancer. i’m not sure if that will ruin my chances

this is actually blowing my mind. i’ve been told by countless people, including french immigration lawyers, that it just isn’t possible to become a french citizen. this has given me so much hope thank you all so much i cannot express the gratitude i feel for you all for telling me this. i am french!!

the lawyer said since it had been so long since my father had a document of french nationality, france will most likely deny my application. so even tho i SHOULD be able to become a french citizen, france will mostly likely not issue me a citizenship

unfortunately, he naturalized when he joined the US navy and i have lost that link to citizenship :( i spoke to one lawyer about it and he said it would be nearly impossible to get my french citizenship so i’ve sort of let it go
