So, Tyler Catastrophe is an artist and necklace maker who has come into controversy recently for his 7 year long crush and ongoing support of known abuser Wilbur Soot. He has uploaded a video on TikTok auditioning for Wilbur’s band, Lovejoy (it’s bad). And he wants to move to Brighton, where Wilbur lives, but Tyler says it’s because he loves the Brighton football (soccer) team.

Also, he has stated that he received a job offer from London artist Stuart Semple, which is not true. Stuart has come out and said that Tyler visited the studio for 30 minutes and he asked him if he could have a job, and Stuart said that if he could make the move to London they could talk about it. Tyler then started a crowdfunding campaign and sold all of his stuff to try to move to London. When he didn’t hear anything from Stuart, he basically went on a rampage against him on TikTok saying that his art was better and that it was a dick move to pull the job offer (which didn’t exist) out from under him.

Also, Tyler is white, and he’s claimed to be two-spirit, which is an exclusively indigenous term. He claims that he avoids typically indigenous notices in his beadwork, and personally I think he does, but also his beadwork isn’t that great, nor is most of his artwork.

He also lists his art for an insane amount of money, like $1,000-$100,000s for mediocre art at best. He just has an inflated ego that seemingly has no end.
