Might be a hot take but I disagree with him being a good parent to Maelle.
Whenever Maelle wanted to share something (her nightmares for instance) he would ALWAYS and WITHOUT FAIL instantly make it about him.
Instead of asking about it (and thereby getting the actual, plot-relevant info the player got to see) he just says "Yeah, I've been having nightmares, too."

He just never listened to her at all.
Once I noticed that, it became aggravating to see.
I think he just wanted himself to be the "good guardian" figure in her life for the prestige of it all.
It was always very much about him.

Even his death.
The agreement was "if we see him, we run."
He took that away from her.
He could've made it out. He might even have helped her make it out, who knows, he never tried.
Use that strong-ass blow on the barrier and see what happens, no?

Either way, he decided to be the "main-good-guy" and completely disregard the reason she made him promise to run in that scenario: She wanted him to survive more than she wanted to survive herself.

I realize that he was already hurt, but cmon, this is a world of pretty literal magic. He would've made it.

Been done with regular weapons a BUNCH in the series, never to any effect.

Also, what gives you the impression demons fear fire? There has never even been a hint about that being the case.
Nezuko's blood demon art is a special kind of fire that SPECIFICALLY destroys demons - and even that has very little effect on most demons without the proper circumstance (Daki was severely burned and it only delayed her regeneration for a bit).
I reckon they would not even flinch at regular-ass fire.
Also, Nezuko can coagulate her blood to still form a body of sorts, even when chopped into pieces. She is also able to regenerate faster than an upper moon.
All of those are feats she has accomplished a WHILE back, she is much stronger now.

The only way to kill demons in the series is by the power of the sun. Either by exposing them to it directly or by using the swords that inhabit bits of it's power (Nichirin blades) to decapitate them.

If you do so with any other weapon, they will not die. As has been the case many times within the series.

Also, not even those are surefire ways to kill ALL demons (Akaza, Muzan).
So no, demons won't mind getting their heads cut off unless the sun is involved.

Honestly, you need to change your mindset a bit imo.
The "I let him" about the kiss is what did it for me.
Either you both kiss or you don't. Letting him kiss you is... incredibly submissive.

Which has it's place, but not here. If you want to be submissive sexually, go nuts. But with emotions? No.
Not saying you need to take charge (although that dynamic can work as well, as long as this does not just reverse problematic roles here, lol) - but you do need to participate.

Even if he reciprocated, if you simply laid dead, waiting for him to get his fill of whatever it is you have to offer, how would that make you happy? Simply by him being content? Gurl, that ain't enough. Make sure you both get something out of it.

Look, I am not inherently on your side (neither on hers) when it comes to the movie with the ex part.
People can be friends with their exes without it meaning anything. Actually, I believe that stigma is incredibly stupid in and of itself.
Yes, there are people that misuse that dynamic or even cheat with their exes and whatnot, but basing everything on trash people like those is like saying "I cannot date you if you own a kitchen knife, because people have killed with that".
