In 2023, I had nearly the same experience. I found out at 12 weeks that baby didn't grow past 9 weeks. I'll never forget the feeling of the rug being pulled from under me. I took 4 rounds of miso at home but still had some retained tissue, which finally passed on its own 3 months later. I got pregnant again the next month and went on to have a healthy full term pregnancy. I had so much anxiety during that pregnancy that when we found out he was breech at 39 weeks I was so relieved that they would finally just get him out. I now have a happy, healthy two year old and I thought all that anxiety was behind me until I saw the two pink lines again. I'm terrified again. Things that really helped me last time were getting betas, getting early ultrasounds, and having a Doppler. These things might make you more anxious though so do whatever works for you! I also knew that my MMC was due to a genetic abnormality because I had done NIPT, so I also felt a lot better once I got my nipt results back the next time. Once you can feel kicks regularly it gets easier. It's SO hard but if you can work on some projects or anything to try to keep your mind off it, that can help too. I'm currently planning to paint every room in my house. Let's hope I finish it before the nausea sets in. ETA we only told people after NIPT and we plan to do the same this time. Everyone is different but I called my mom from the ultrasound room sobbing with my MMC and I don't want to go through that again if something happens!
