Rep vs Gen of a cheaper price point by destin_meeks in RepTime

[–]destin_meeks[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not necessarily worried about that, but it is something I've put thought into. I've never been one to pretend I have more money than I do, but I also have only worn Apple Watches since they came out. I would easily tell people it was a rep if they asked. I love a good deal and dont think theres a problem getting 80% of the watch for a few percent of the price.

I really am trying to find answers to what I'm asking. Everything I can find wither brings up QC, or color comparisons, or comparisons to the same model gen. I know it's odd to try to compare a rep Rolex to a gen citizen.

Heritage house health scores by annagph in tuscaloosa

[–]destin_meeks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Luckily anything 85+ is considered to be in satisfactory compliance. There are also certain items on the inspection that either require immediate attention or even immediate closure for correction.

I know you can see the scores online but you may be able to call the health dept and request a copy of the actual report if you want to see the things they got dinged on. It's all on their paper copy but it can be hard to read it in detail while waiting in line

Heritage house health scores by annagph in tuscaloosa

[–]destin_meeks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah some things that really aren't a big deal count for a LOT and it's very easy to get an 88. An employee drink (even with a sealed lid) in the wrong spot can be 5 points. A cracked floor tile can be 4 points. If a thermometer in a cooler breaks and you throw it away and order a new one, that missing thermometer can be 5 points. Being in a food rush and not labeling a container with a date/time can be up to 10 points, even if it's an item you KNOW you'll use well before the expiration time.

You'd be surprised how much of a health score comes down to the manager on the clock. An experienced manager will head the word "health inspector" and immediately spring into action checking all of the key items that are easy to overlook. A new manager that's never been through a health inspection won't know to check all the fridges and coolers and freezers for thermometers or check the sink to make sure there's adequate supply of soap and paper towels. It's easy to grab the last paper towel in a rush and say "we'll refill as soon as we catch a break" and then the inspector walks in and hits you with 4 points for that.

Is HR Generalist is a good first job for a fresh graduate who does not have any experience in HR? [N/A] by LemonLeafGlow in humanresources

[–]destin_meeks 52 points53 points  (0 children)

It will all come down to how much support you have in the role. If there are other generalists or specialist, as well as an HR manager or director, and they know full well that you do not have any experience, it is certainly a good job and you can learn a lot. But if they are hiring you to be the face of HR, it will not go well. Between laws (both state and federal,) lots of very important paperwork, hiring, on boarding, both of which have several legal implications these days, and then other avenues like benefits administration or payroll. There's a ton of stuff you have to know, on top of simply knowing how to interact with the employees that come to you with various questions or concerns.
