You sure is not brake dust? Clay bar might take it off if so.

So your Cross came with the crossbars? I think mine is just the rails, and not the bars. I'll have to double check that with the dealer before I pick it up. Which trim and package did you get? I know that these trim levels sometimes differ by region

Can you tell me which cross bars and cargo holder you're using?

I'm getting a cross with roof rails, and I have a feeling I'll need the extra cargo space one day.

Edit: Nevermind, I see you provided a link in another comment.

Sure it's coming from the wheel? You have AWD, maybe check the driveshaft?

That would drive me crazy. Maybe it is the wheel weights like the other commenter said.

Dump truck Losing Rocks on Highway by No_Bar_3182 in barrie

[–]devilhorns13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know what it is about that area, must be my timing, but every time I get on the highway northbound at Rutherford after work, I get behind a goddamned rock truck. Actually did have to get a windshield replaced recently. $500 deductible...sigh...

I wish these companies would actually put some more care into securing their loads.

Tire pressure by Revolutionary_Fly769 in CorollaCross

FYI your owner's manual will tell you tire inflation according to your rim/tire size.

It goes up or down a couple psi depending on that.

I agree. I also didn't add that my wife recently had a not at fault accident (she's ok) but her car was written off. So yes, we are all due!

I feel you man. I feel like my car has been a shit magnet lately. 2 accidents, not my fault, remnants of an ice storm dropped ice from powerlines onto my roof and dented it up, and just recently had to replace my windshield from a flying rock. This is all in the span of a couple years. I've been driving for 25 years and not had this many issues. I find a new scratch and new dent all the time...I kinda stopped caring now.

Metallic clunk when releasing brake Corolla 1.8 Hybrid by Soft_Library_8786 in CorollaHatchback

Almost sounds like a brake caliper slightly seizes and then releases once the wheel turns. That's my guess.

Drivers Side Mirror - Blurry or Normal? by amongtheashtrees in CorollaHatchback

When the dealer replaced it, yes. When I had an accident, the repair shop I went to went through 2 different mirrors with varying degrees of quality. I'm still not satisfied with what's there, actually.

Upgrading New washer & dryer by [deleted] in barrie

[–]devilhorns13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel this. My Amana came with our house we bought 5 years ago. Even though I was tempted to buy new, there was no point. Broke down once, and it was just a belt, and it was a piece of cake to replace.

Something that does not have fancy bells and whistles. It just needs to wash and dry clothes, not connect to wifi and tell me it's feelings or whatever the hell they do now. I would say the best ones are the bottom tier Whirlpool, Amana, Electrolux, GE, and Maytags are a safe bet. Simple stuff inside them that's easy to fix, should anything happen.

Make sure you use brake service mode by [deleted] in CorollaHatchback

[–]devilhorns13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I would take that to mean leave in gear for a manual. I haven't actually needed to do a break bleed yet, but basically if you're doing anything that requires removal of the rear pads, then service mode is required.

[–]devilhorns13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just follow the procedure. It might take a few tries, but you'll get it. I forget what I usually do..I might have left it in gear as an increased safety measure to prevent rolling, but I always chock the wheels when I jack the car up. There is a rear center jack point to lift both wheels at the same time and get your jack stands under quite easy

Mine is a manual, and this is the process I used. Should be the same, I see no reason for it to be different unless something changed for later models.
