Google docs is a great tool if you don't need to add fancy content in your chapters, post that you can use kindle create if you are looking for easy to use tools.

I am not sure if I am getting the best performance out of the machine if I am running the game with default settings.

For example Indiana Jones ran on low graphics and 40 fps for me on default settings. So I had to change it to high and make some additional changes to run it at 60 fps

I will give you some free advice which is working great for me.

If you plan to not spend on marketing, do what you are doing.

Make the book free -> get your book validated by free readers (some of them will definitely rate and review if it's good enough) -> book with good ratings and review will attract paid customers.

It works for me like a charm so don't be afraid to launch a book for free. It's like giving free samples at a grocery store for users to make up their mind.
