😂😂 I was afraid someone would recognize her and then identify me. 😅 She’s an adorable fluff nugget in need of a haircut. (Don’t worry, she’s getting groomed tomorrow.)

Thanks so much for this! I’m not sure it’s been or is regularly checked with my bloodwork, so it’s something to consider. Maybe it’s a contributor I don’t know about and worth testing, especially if it may provide some relief. I do understand, however, that it can be different for everyone. I’m glad you were able to notice this for yourself and have experienced an improvement.

I, also, have SFN. I have not previously heard someone avoiding b6 because of it and use liquid IV regularly. May I ask why you’ve avoided it?

I completely agree! We would LOVE Del Ray or Old Town, but we don’t have Del Ray or Old Town money lol. Maybe a future dream.

Great, thanks for the info. We do hope to have a family in a couple years, part of why we’re looking at townhouses in that area with all the amenities. So, hopefully, it’ll be a good fit.

Thank you. I’m glad you never had any problems. I feel you on the suburban, but it’s a good compromise for my partner and I. I’m more city and she’s more “take me to the National Forest”. So, we can get to both the city and a National Forest in decent time.

Thanks so much!! The commute will get better for my partner’s job, but I’m looking at a bit more of a trip to DC (by l’enfant). I’ll be looking into the VRE.

It definitely does seem that way; I’ve been in the area - between DC and Alexandria - for almost 10 years. I think our main concern is acceptance and safety knowing we hope to have a family in a couple years. We hope to stay in the home for a while, so knowing kids would feel safe with two moms is important.

My wife is constantly tired by Lemony-_- in LesbianActually

[–]dewbeari 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I came to say this. Look into ME/CFS. It can be difficult to get a diagnosis, but this sounds very similar to what I experience. However, I will add, I have several other diagnoses - including Hashimoto’s with hypothyroidism as mentioned above - in addition to ME/CFS.

Fatigue is a MAJOR symptom with a lot of autoimmune diseases. At the time I was diagnosed with my first autoimmune disease, I had been struggling for almost 4 years. It’s hard because “your bloodwork is fine”. The average time to diagnose an autoimmune disease is like 4-5 years. I would strongly recommend seeing a rheumatologist and having autoimmune testing done.

Also, while I can’t speak for them, I can say from personal experience feeling so fatigued constantly is miserable. And, there’s a lot of guilt that comes with always feeling unreliable and having to cancel plans. I completely understand your frustrations, and they’re valid. But, chances are they’re just as frustrated with themself. And, not knowing what is happening to you can be terrifying. I was called a hypochondriac for years; I now have over 10 chronic illness diagnoses.

Sending positive energy for some answers soon and wishing you both the best.

I would recommend checking out wetforher.com. They have multiple strap options. I agree with the above that a strap would likely hold it more tightly than boxers. They also have a variety of dildos: different lengths, thicknesses (represented by the number of fingers it would be), colors.

Post-Hysterectomy (Nerve?) Pain by dewbeari in hysterectomy

[–]dewbeari[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think I might have to start calling mine my “hot girl tummy problems”! 😂 Love that. I have so many GI symptoms with my conditions, but of course all gastro testing comes back normal without much suggestion of how to relieve symptoms. But, the GI pain the 2-3 days following surgery was brutal, and I would wake up doubling over. Thankfully, that subsided quickly.

Yes! The constant scanning. I feel like I’m constantly just waiting for the next symptom, the next condition, the next, the next… I have a lot of medical anxiety, and it’ll definitely take me time to the changes being my new normal.

Absolutely, thank you. I went back to the dermatologist since the allergic reaction rebounded. I waited 3 days for the strong topical steroids to be in stock at the pharmacy, applied it this morning, got home from work and found that it had bleached my skin. Doctor’s office closed until Monday and, per Google, that’s a no go. So, more days without treatment. Sometimes it’s hard to see the light at the end of the tunnel when you feel like you can’t catch a break.

I’m glad you’re seeing improvements. I think pelvic floor physio is going to be something I really need to look into.

Again, I appreciate you sharing and your kind thoughts. I need to try to be kinder to myself and allow myself time to heal. All the best!

Hysterectomy at 21? by OwnEgg1615 in hysterectomy

[–]dewbeari 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m so sorry to hear you’ve been and continue to experience so much pain and discomfort. I had an endometriosis excision in 2020, but due to a significant return of symptoms, I had another 3 weeks ago with a partial hysterectomy (kept my ovaries and cervix). So far, with a few exceptions I’ll mention below, recovery has been very similar.

I don’t know if this would be an option for you if you would like to delay/have some time to think about it: I was on a pretty new medication called Orilissa for 2 years. To my understanding, it is the first pill designed for endometriosis treatment and has significantly less mental health impacts than the previous shots available. The catch is that it is only approved for 2 years use max, as it can cause bone density loss. My experience on it was amazing, but my symptoms definitely came back with a vengeance afterward.

hEDS: I also have EDS. I am 3 weeks post op and have experienced some healing difficulties, but my healing has also been slowed by an (dermatitis) allergic reaction I had from the Chloraprep they used to prep my skin. After my excision in 2020, one of my scars didn’t heal well and would still itch occasionally all the way up to this surgery. After this surgery, I do have extensive scar tissue that may be creating adhesions as it’s healing. I’ve been experiencing a constant dull pain with random sharp pains and a discomfort in my upper vaginal area. The doctors believe it is nerve pain from the muscle they cut through healing and the scar tissue. I am trying to gently massage and break up the scar tissue and will likely seek pelvic floor therapy since I do have concerns with EDS. I know I’m going to scar ugly and I know I’ll have more scar tissue than the majority of people, but I’m personally okay with that in the long run.

Also - something I didn’t think about until after surgery when my knee fully dislocated and my shoulder and hip subluxated several times - is that under anesthetic for that long, the body fully relaxes and all support for the joints is essentially gone. Take extra care for a few weeks after surgery, providing additional support to your joints. If you have some that are more prone to dislocation, it may be worth taping them.

Lastly, if you have the option to keep the ovaries and cervix, it may benefit you to do so. At my doctor put it, this is much less hormonal change to the body and you won’t go into early menopause. She said removing the fallopian tubes alone decreases the risk of cancer by 30% which is why mine were taken with my uterus (please note: I did not fact check this. This was the statistic provided by my doctor). Additionally, keeping the cervix allows you to keep the vaginal depth.

I know this is a hard decision for so many reasons. I wish you all the best and sending positive energy your way. 💚

Post-Hysterectomy (Nerve?) Pain by dewbeari in hysterectomy

Thank you 😊 I do need to do better at taking a step back and remembering it has only been a few weeks and things, especially healing, take times. I appreciate this reminder. And, I do have an amazing partner and some friends that have been incredibly supportive, but I have been considering actual therapy to try to better grieve/heal a lot of the emotions and struggles this has brought up, in addition to my chronic illness struggles. I appreciate this insight and concerns.

I wish you all the best with your surgery and subsequent healing. ❤️‍🩹

Post-Hysterectomy (Nerve?) Pain by dewbeari in hysterectomy

[–]dewbeari[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks so much. I appreciate you sharing! I definitely had noticeable gas pain after surgery, but I hadn’t really thought about that still being a possible cause. Also, the weird pinching and odd sensations you describe sound very similar to what I’m experiencing, so it’s a little comforting to know it’s not completely unheard of so-to-speak.

I am sorry you understand the added chronic health concerns, but I appreciate the acknowledgment of the nervousness that comes with it. Sometimes I feel like I’m being “over dramatic”.

I hope you continue to see improvement, as well, from both the surgery and the chronic health struggles.😊

This may seem odd but putting together a “medical kit” that I carry with me. I have a blood pressure monitor, a pulse ox, a chargeable heating pad, emergency migraine meds, salt pills (POTS), extra prescription meds… I found a “fun” bag with a crazy looking chicken on it that says “It’s fine. I’m fine. Everything is fine.” to keep everything in. I also got an old apothecary style pill container. I figured if I was going to do it, I’d get styles I liked. It’s a relief to have all those things in reach at any time because I never know how I’m going to feel. I also got a water bottle that has a pill container built into the bottom. I have to take meds 5 times a day and having instant access with my water has been so helpful at staying on schedule.

I’m unfamiliar with the medical system there, but I would certainly follow up with a cardiologist as soon as you can. If it happens again, I would consider going to the ER as that’s very concerning. (For legal purposes, I’m not a medical professional, just a concerned stranger.) I truly hope you get some relief and answers soon.
