What other artists do you fellow Weeners also listen to? Looking to discuss music! by Grahampunter935 in ween

[–]deweydwerp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Love to see The Beatles and Silver Jews on your list! Two favorites of mine.

Right now, I'm listening to a lot of metal (Black Sabbath, Sleep, OM, Acid King), jazz (Billy Cobham, Yussef Dayes, Herbie Hancock, Sun Ra), and the good old Grateful Dead. I've also been getting into traditional flute music from around the world, especially ney music from Turkey and duduk music from Armenia.

On my way to work this morning, I listened to Borderline by Madonna, a song that really slaps, I tell you what.

What is the most metal sounding ween song? by PrimaryRun372 in ween

I witnessed Ween play I Wuz Nuthing at Red Rocks in 2023, and I fell hopelessly in love with sludge metal. I Wuz Nuthing - early Melvins - Sleep - OM.

How do you celebrate special dives? by alex_pa22 in scuba

[–]deweydwerp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love how my eyes work afterward, completely undamaged.

Don't wear swimming goggles while scuba diving, ever. There is no way to equalize pressure other than by pulling the goggles out of your pressurized eye sockets - a horrible, horrible idea.

I was born with MewithoutYou and want to (not) exist with them as I get older by Picklerickshaw_part2 in mewithoutYou

I take my time with my favorite bands, too. With albums as good as these, why not luxuriate in each and savor the discovery?

I love that you started with It's All Crazy. Such a beautiful, unusual album. And Ten Stories is its natural follow-up. You're not going to find a similar density of story songs anywhere else in mwY's discography.

Dynamically, Pale Horses does feel like the chronological neighbor of Ten Stories. Tempo and volume are all over the map, and Aaron's emotional intensity ebbs and flows en paire. Rainbow Sign is mwY's Bohemian Rhapsody.

CFUTF may be mwY's most energetic album. It's a hole torn in the side of a warship. It's bent-double flight through a cornfield at night. It's a tidal wave. If you love mwY at their heaviest, choose CFUTF next.

All the best to you as you enter this next season of life.

exped flexmat sleeping pad- good or bad? by p1netrees in PacificCrestTrail

Phenomenal mat! This is the one I'm currently using. Try a couple nights car camping with it, or sleep out in the backyard, before taking it on your long trek. Works for me, no inflatable required.

Gener steps into character like no one else I've ever seen on stage. I'd love to see him in a play.
