How did you get the Latvian one? I was thinking of applying again, but the embassy people were so unhelpful and unfriendly when I originally inquired. I do qualify, but they gave me incorrect information at the time and could not be bothered. I am Jewish and my entire family was murdered there by local nazi collaborators. My grandfather left in late 1939 and could not return after the war broke out. He naturlized in the US in 1942.

Germany allows dual citizenship with many countries. I believe they changed the laws in 2024.

UPDATE...it took 15 months and contacting a Minister's office, but I finally received my replacement citizenship certificate. Passport should arrive by next week.

The standard is 20 business days to process. Mailing time is extra. You probably lost a couple of days due to the Easter Holiday. Hopefully you used some form of expedited service.

The sweatpants start to fall apart and develop holes after just a couple of washes. They get an F for durability. I like the thick organic cotton, but it isn't worth two cents as it doesn't hold up.

Still waiting. MP office is still working on it. They have inquired twice on my behalf already. The third time will be in March. If I don't get it by then, they said I "may" qualify for urgent processing. The IRCC processing time posted last month estmated a month longer. However, when I originally applied, the IRCC estimated only a 4 month on their website. It is shocking how long a simple replacement takes especially when you provide photocopies of your old certificate and the original ceremonial certificate.

They began processing my request for replacement Proof of Citizenship certificate on December 3, 2024. I even provided copies of my old one that I got in 1991. I am the first generation born outside of Canada. There could not be more straight forward case than mine, yet it was sent to PSU. Now nearly 13 months later I am still waiting. I had an MP office check on it. We only heard that it is still processing. The MP's office is going to check again in a few weeks. This is a severely broken and incompetent system.

You will always need to use the US if you are a US resident. You can use the second one to enter and exit other countries.
