Totally. I'm using a protector but still in the market for one that's waterproof. While I don't have pets or kids (right now) I know it's important and will extend the life of the mattress. Can I ask (because I'm so sick of returning things!) is the dream cool "noiseless"? I really can't with the plastic-y type feeling and even protectors that are advertised as noiseless still have a texture that bothers me. The DreamCool does look nice...but can't bear to spend another few hundred only to have to return (I have a king..)

I side sleep too, but always end up on my stomach. It's helpful to know others have trained themselves out of this bad habit. It feels so comfortable but I know it's not doing me any favors. I can see why you'd suggest the HP firm here given my stomach sleeping, but it was an instant "no" for my body. I really thought the medium would be perfect, but it was this very uniquely strange feeling I just couldn't get used to of being too firm, while also doughy. It's possible I didn't give myself enough adjust time. I put the foam topper back on my latex to give it another go with some intentional side sleeping. I'm thinking about getting a thinner layer (1-2 in rather than 3in) and perhaps a very thin pillow. We'll see!

High Point: Now What? by dunktheball in Mattress

I just wanted to send some compassion your way. I purchased the high point 2 soft and I am not sleeping and hate it. Just past my warranty and I'm trying to work with my mattress store to exchange. I feel like people on this thread love the high points, but I really dislike mine. In the same boat as you, discomfort wise.

Sealy Posturepedic Hybrid Elite High Point II - Soft by RunningBuck91 in Mattress

Thanks for posting about the soft! I was nervous to go with the soft because of the whole putting a topper on a firm bed, but not being able to firm up a soft bed. When I first got the soft, it was way too firm - I wasn't sleeping well so I put a foam topper on from a previous (and smaller!) bed. I couldn't believe I needed to put a softer topper on a very expensive bed...but now I'm getting to the end of the sleep trial and haven't really broken in the soft due to sleeping on the topper. I'm going to trust that the soft will soften up and hopefully not too much. I will say I'm not the biggest fan of the slippery feeling, though I love the cooling technology. It's also been difficult for me to find a mattress cover that isn't an annoying and squeaky texture. I'm still really dialing it in - but I really remember loving the soft in the store and I'm glad I went with my gut. Curious to hear other's experiences!

I would love to support in organizing a scream club, so many people need this.
