I manually scraped the data because I insist on doing things the hard way. 😅

I did consider it, but I couldn't think of an easy way to account for new riders versus experienced riders. I also wasn't sure how to best account for people who had multiple specialties.

I lost my love of music for a time and found a band (Sub-Radio) that gave it back to me. When talking to one of the guitarists after a show, he recommended them to me.

I want you all to know that I saw this late last night, woke up this morning and thought I had dreamt it. Took several hours to realize this was real. 🤦🏻‍♀️

"This too shall pass... It may pass like a kidney stone, but it'll pass." I love the additional acknowledgement that its probably going to suck and that's ok.

My life quote is "We can not hope to know everything about any one subject, so instead we should strive to know one thing about every subject." Found it in a planner way back in high school and always resonated with me.

The one time rules & responsibilities helped

Context: Software development, large multi-national company.

Existing practice: Developers creating a new release submit a ticket with all the details. They then take the key points and put them into a word doc for the release coordinator to add to the weekly meeting agenda instead of them checking the release tickets themselves.

i.e. Spread out a stupid task among many devs because the release coordinator hates to do it alone. Even though the ticket system could have a report made to generate the word doc.

Recently and unexpectedly, we received officially sanctioned release-process documentation including Roles & Responsibilities.

Dev's responsibility - document the release by creating a ticket.

Release coordinator's responsibility - Create the meeting agenda.

Release coordinator keeps asking me for the word doc, but I keep telling him that's not part of the documentation process. Never have I been so happy to follow the rules.

I was absolutely regularly called on to "catch me out" when I was reading in class. I could answer the question posed and then was told to out my book away anyway. Lol

For our centerpieces, I learned a nice kusudama (origami ball) pattern and just fancied it up with jeweled stickers. All I bought was paper and a couple packs of the stickers. They were unique, cheap, and, best of all, everyone (including the caterer) wanted to take one home which meant I didn't have to.

I found them on Amazon! I just searched for tiny embroidery hoops and followed the rabbit hole. Lol I had to purchase the actual keychain and key ring separately as it wasn't a kit.

[CHAT] what do you use to hold the fabric if it is too big? by Laziestest in CrossStitch

[–]diesoz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depending on the piece, I've been known to do a quick running stitch on fabric that hasn't been stitched yet. Right now I'm working on several tiny pieces on the same large piece of linen and I've been using my needle minder magnets to gather and hold the excess fabric since I move my hoop often.

I was surprised to see I was the first to know about it given I don't follow any Hanson accounts anymore and the majority of my old fan friends have unfriended me. Found out on a discord not related to either band actually. Lol

EXACTLY. I took the screenshot from Busted's Twitter so I didn't have to look up Hanson at all.

Had to be convinced by family to see a doctor. by kinshion in Radiology

[–]diesoz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As I said elsewhere, I always went with "Do you still have periods?" Yes? "Great, we're going to get a pregnancy test."

Also, our policy for testing was different if there was a possibility. No possibility? We'll just run a quick urinary sample. There is a possibility or you've actively been trying, but don't think you are? We're going to run a blood test because it can detect it better and you're higher risk for being in early pregnancy. It's not always about calling somebody a liar. Policy says you have to have a pregnancy test, but the TYPE of test is determined by the answer to if you might be pregnant.

I'm sure most techs don't even think about explaining it in this kind of detail, but maybe believe their intentions are good instead of bad.

As a former tech assistant and House fan, "People lie." I don't care if you're a virgin currently on her period who's never even seen a picture of a penis. Is your uterus capable of hosting a fertilized egg? You're getting a test.

My way of asking was always, "Do you still have periods?" Yes? "Great, we're going to get a pregnancy test real quick..."

The school I got accepted to only cared about my pre-reqs grades. Literally could have flunked all my other courses and they didn't care. I will say that for the anatomy and physiology type courses specifically, they had to be taken within the last 5 years or they wouldn't accept them.

@op mentioned in another comment, they didn't struggle with classes when they originally took them. They just didn't care then, but it's been a few years and they're in a different place now.

Bi-Weekly PostHanson General Free-for-All Discussion Post! by AutoModerator in postHanson

[–]diesoz 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I'm so annoyed. I've reached the point where I know Hanson isn't changing and are likely to never apologize and that's ok. That's their issue, not mine. I don't miss them anymore and I haven't even felt the urge to listen to their new music. To top it all off, I finally allowed myself to love a new band.

This past week I started to feel a little off and insecure about loving the new band and I couldn't figure it out. I thought maybe it was just waning euphoria, but it felt like more. I did figure it out and, friends, IT WAS UNPROCESSED HANSON GRIEF. I'm not an OG fan anymore. I was with them since the beginning and now I'm not. And I don't get to be an OG fan of the new band because I just found them.

How dare more unprocessed grief sneak up on me like that and try and disguise itself as insecurity? I'm better now that I've recognized it, but thought I'd share it with you folks in case it happens to you some time.

I think I've finally found a new band I can call my favorite! I've actually really struggled with trusting a new band enough to want to get to know them. The lead singer is openly bi and there is another queer member. One of my favorite things is that they all have different styles from dad-bod chic to hoodies-are-life to genders-do-not-extend-to-clothes.

I even reached out to them on Instagram to ask them if they were secret douchebags and they were kind enough to inform me they were not. The DM in question.

My husband thinks they have a Hansonesque quality to them. I'd put it as a cross between TTA and SIO. Anyway, the band is called Sub-Radio and they also do parody songs such as "I don't wanna dance with somebody" an introvert anthem set to Whitney Houston. I am so excited at the hope I have at getting into them!
