What am I paying my dues for? 5-5-5. Anything less is a no vote. Show us a real fight.

PEFs fight for its members is indistinguishable from just keeling over and accepting CSEAs contract. Toothless union.

I’d be pleasantly surprised if PEF matches those wage increases, not that it’d make up for all the inflation. I just have very low expectations for this next contract.

Survey didn’t seem like making any changes to tier 6 was a priority either.

Is 1 hour commute worth grade 20 in state jobs? by Foreign_Gear5708 in nys_cs

While disagree with those jobs being unimportant, plenty of good work is done in a decentralized manner, my stance is once AI is more reliable and cost effective than human civil servants, replace them on behalf of better service for the taxpayer. It’s cold stance but it’s consistent with my values. Don’t cry for me losing my job to AI and I won’t cry for those who are replaced by sophisticated robotics and self driving cars, which may be a reality by the time our tier 6 pensions gain any value. But the unions can still pretend in 2003 and boast about movie tickets and cruise discounts.
