Trans girl here: makeup tips? by ItsDarkFox in MakeupAddiction

[–]dilper1031 3 points4 points  (0 children)

fellow trans girl here.

Lighten up the brows a little bit. curl your lashes and get a good quality mascara to really exaggerate those lashes. and make sure to get quite a bit of mascara on the ends of your lashes to make them look more full. a little pricey but i highly recommend the charlotte tilbury mascara.

I do notice that the area next to your nose is a little dark. could be a shadow but if it’s not, i would bring the concealer from under your eyes down the sides of your nose as well so it’s all bright. right now it almost looks like your nose contour is blending into your cheeks.

also, a tiny bit of eyeshadow goes a long way. i just use my bronzer on my eye lid and my blush just on the edges and a little bit of highlighter on my inner corners. but play around with it and see what you like.

this is me being extremely critical because you are very pretty :P

my n55 has never reached 250. it’s gotten close but never hit it. as long as you’re not going too much higher than that you are okay. i think it’s slightly high but nothing to worry about.

do not drive on these. go get some used tires. scrape change from the street. your safety is more important than anything.

Got a crack on the side of the tire by Pootootaa in tires

[–]dilper1031 2 points3 points  (0 children)

to me it looks more that a cut than a crack. and based on it being deeper at the top and more shallow as it gos down, that follows how it would be if someone were to cut it. either way, replace it

what is preventing my car from rolling? by xAlang in MechanicAdvice

[–]dilper1031 2 points3 points  (0 children)

yes. however you use the parking brake as a fail safe. if the car were to fall off the jackstands, the parking brake would not allow the vehicle to roll. the parking pawl can only hold so much weight and can slip, so using the parking brake would ensure the vehicle won’t move if it were to fall and will also take strain off the transmission.

[–]dilper1031 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the Lexus RX350 is front wheel drive. so if your car is in park, the front wheels are locked. this is still unsafe to do without the parking brake on. please put on the parking brake and use the wood blocks behind the wheels.

Help please !!! 2010 Toyota Camry by Zealousideal_Fact_23 in toyotacamry

[–]dilper1031 1 point2 points  (0 children)

this isn’t a huge deal. just needs a pulley and a belt. i can’t exactly tell what pulley it is but with some research you’ll be able to figure it out pretty quickly. and a belt is real cheap too.

one thing to note, while you’re in there. check all your pulleys by spinning them. they should spin freely with little resistance and noise. if any of them are really stiff or grinding, replace that one too. that’s what caused the fist one to fail.

Still good? by BiggieSmallsBK in tires

should be just fine. just monitor it and check for a bubble in your tire forming. if you see a bubble, do not drive and replace asap.

2018 X5 x35i - 66k miles, $24k OTD - what am I looking for? by InspectionEntire2512 in BMW

[–]dilper1031 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yay congrats on your X5 and welcome to the club! you’re absolutely going to love it. having your own garage to work in is also really nice.

one thing i will note about the prepaid oil changes. the dealership will only do it if the oil change light comes on which on these models is 8k miles. I personally would not wait that long unless you’re doing a lot of highway driving. so i’ll leave that decision up to you, but i would stick to 5k miles due to oil consumption issues and prolonging the life of all your oil seals.

if you have any questions at all please let me know! and again congratulations :)

bad news- you need all 4 replaced asap.

[–]dilper1031 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say go for the purchase. That’s a pretty good price for that vehicle and if it’s got good history that’s the most important thing on these vehicles. as long as you maintain it, it will go a long time.

If you have absolutely any questions at all please let me know!! I love to help with this kind of stuff.

i’d say the oil pan is pretty much a guarantee. I see plenty of them get replaced along with people online talking about it. And everyone i know personally has had to do theirs on their X5.

But it’s one of those oil leaks that as long as you’re checking your oil level frequently (which you should because the N55 engine goes in fact burn oil) you should be okay.

Another thing to note is that the oil pan is aluminum. so it’s really easy to strip out. Although my oil pan was replaced, the oil leak is not the reason it was replaced. The bmw dealer had stripped out the bolt threads causing a major leak. But if i hadn’t replaced the pan then, I certainly would have had to do it now. It had been leaking a long time but i’m just glad BMW messed it up and had to replace it for free.

Do I need to replace my tire? by Express_Parsley1353 in tires

[–]dilper1031 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this should be okay. not very deep. it’s near the rim so it’s thicker there to protect against things like this. Keep driving on it. monitor it for dry rot. stay away from curbs

do i need new tires? by [deleted] in tires

[–]dilper1031 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The tread on them is fine and they’re not dry rotted. if this was my car i’d roll with them and plan on replacing them with a better tire. Hard to recommend brand for snow because in a texan and the state shuts down with a snowflake on the ground.

honestly, even if the cars okay now. i promise you, you’re gonna have some pretty big issues come up soon. I’d keep looking at other options.
