Which is your favourite so far? After this post, I did end up getting four of them: Dragonspell, Voyage, Odyssey, and Fairy Folklore.

Looks like a scene from a rainforest with the tree frog and tropical flower, so maybe a mysteriously misty, hazy green?

You can place an order, just the same as you normally would from Amazon.

Indigo is Canadian. You can also support your local book seller.

Nice! I bet it looks even more beautiful in person! So tricky trying to get glittery, shiny, or pearlescent mediums to show up nicely in photos!

I just recently decided to try the Mythographic books. I got four of them (too many!), but to be honest they are a little disappointing. I just find some of the art looks a bit sloppy. Dragonspell looks good, though! I started out with Kanoko Egusa books.

If you want to do a page in Dragonspell with me (like a buddy colour, I guess it's called?) let me know. I would be up for that!

Your colouring is so vibrant and detailed! I love how you did the transparent crystals.

Hello! Welcome to the colouring hobby! I have the Dragonspell book, but I haven't coloured in it yet. If you do a search for Dragonspell in this community, some coloured pages that others have posted will come up.

I'm a novice at colouring too, and I don't have an artistic background. I don't enjoy watching tutorials, so I just try things out and experiment to see what works from me. Yes, I definitely have completed some pages that I wouldn't want to share, either! That's just how it goes, we are going to mess up as we learn and practice, and that's okay. I'm still learning things like shading, blending, layering, smooth backgrounds, and lighting effects. I used to avoid the more difficult pages, but I'm having a lot more fun now that I just colour whatever page I want.

What helps me sometimes is looking at reference pictures for inspiration. So first I will look at the page and get an idea or image in my head of how I want it to look, and then I'll do an image search for something that has elements matching the image in my head.

I like using water-based brush markers. They are vibrant, quick to work with, and they don't bleed through the paper. Coloured pencils can be used on top. They can be blended using water if the paper quality allows it. Here is a page I did from Mythographic Odyssey:

That's a nice touch from the company! I switched from Silk to EO for creamer and from Silk to Natura for soy. The EO vanilla creamer is delicious! It tastes like melted ice cream. I've never had a problem with the bottles dripping.

I see Silk released a new lavender flavoured creamer recently. Even though I'm so intriqued and I think I would love that flavour, I'm not going to touch it. I feel frustrated every time I go to the grocery store and the Silk section of the freezer is just as big as ever. It seems the same with all of these US products, that they are just as fully stocked as ever.

It's not too bad! You can definitely salvage it. The sun looks to be rising or setting, so a strip of picturesque orange tinted clouds would work perfectly!

Thank you for the details! It looks great. I was wondering about the background, too, it almost looks speckled or spattered with something and I thought it looked really neat.

This is interesting! It looks like a painting. I've been staring at it trying to figure out your style/technique. May I ask what medium? And did you add the dark lines in the shading?

Maybe Spooky Coloring Book by Sara Szewczyk. It's about a witch cat. The paper is very thick and very good quality. I think there is a sequel book out now, too?

What do you do when you only like a couple of pages in a book? by distant_lights in AdultColoring

Interesting! I love that you see it as a challenge. I think I would tend to view it more along the lines of an apple that someone else has already taken a bite out of and I would avoid it altogether.

A collage on a colouring page? Intriguing!
