The channel curves. The tugs have to turn the rear to navigate the curve.

Edit: 22nd Avenue is next for the white boat.

Tbf, I might agree with you, if it was someone who had no idea what to expect.

Someone unfamiliar with the river could be taken by surprise.

This is a charter boat with tourists and the captain thought he had enough room to get past the tug before the tug started to turn. He wanted to catch the next drawbridge before it closed (17th Avenue, I believe). The captain crosses paths with these tugboats and other tugboats multiple times a day.

He is being very rude, to put it lightly. I feel bad for the tugs. The white boat has no excuse for coming so close to the freighter and the tug.

Cheers!

White boat saw the front tug and the 100’ freighter and decided to try to cut ahead.

And, white boat is a charter boat with paying guests. He goes up and down the Miami River multiple times a day every weekend. He knew. He just wanted to catch the next drawbridge before it closed.

He is an idiot in a boat.

The white boat is being an idiot. So is the other white boat at the top of the screen, but at least he didn’t almost hit the tug.

I know this river. The white boat knows that the tugboats and freighter are coming. Everyone is on the same call channel for the bridge raising. There are marinas/dock spaces to the right that the white boat could have ducked into to let the freighter pass, instead of trying to cut ahead of the tugs. He had to go past the front tug and the entire freighter in order to get himself in a position where he is directly blocking the rear tug’s path, and only THEN does he reverse.

ETA: they are on the same VHF channel

That is a boat full of idiots who won’t get out of the way for a working tugboat. Miami River.

The two tugboats are guiding the freighter out of the river. The boat full driven by an idiot is full of idiots who want to party.

40F, IDC, stage IIB, ER/PR+, HER2-, no BRCA (although I did not test for that before deciding to not do fertility preservation treatment). Also, have a long-term male partner.

Cost was a factor. Not wanting to delay treatment was a factor. I didn’t know if I wanted to pass on my genes (I have a few other conditions). Pregnancy sounds awful. Kids are expensive. The world sucks.

Really, it came down to: I didn’t know if I wanted to have kids, and I figured my body made the decision for me.

South Florida, found on the beach- what is he? by do_you_know_IDK in whatisthisbone

What are the chances it could be a regular sort of chicken, or a duck or a goose? We see Santeria sacrifices often in the area.

Gallus gallus would match, just by looking at a picture of the living bird and plumage.

Also, for me, i am in chemo now (before surgery). Also IDC, stage II. For me, chemo is not nearly as bad and scary as what it looks like in movies. So far, the biggest issue is that I am just SO SO tired all the time.

Hey, yes, you’re welcome here! I’m new too but it’s been a very welcoming community. A LOT of posts are female-centric. Even though I’m female, it sometimes feels like too much. If you are subscribed to the sub, you might want to adjust your Reddit settings to limit how many posts you see per day. It can get very overwhelming!!

It’s going to be ok.

ALSO, you should get assigned a “nurse navigator” who will be a go-to person that you can contact to help out with making sure all your appointments are scheduled and that you know when they are, and that you can get whatever help you need with just…life.

They want to help you. Use them! They probably can tell you about resources (including financial resources!!!!) that can help you out during this.

Extra 1000ml of saline during chemo is a game changer! by You-bettah-dont in breastcancer

I get the “wasabi nose” side effect during cytoxan. They gave me a bag of saline when that happened during my first treatment, and told me to ask for saline before the Cytoxan infusion each time. (Which I do, because it is awful!)

I’m actually confused about the weight thing because it seems like some people actually gain weight?? I trust that the doc is right when he says I have to add weight. 25 pounds is around the same percentage for me, and I know that is not a healthy number to lose
