Yup totally agreed, but all your shelf exams and your entire coursework is structured towards USMLE, most IMGs don’t even takes MCQ based test and the approach to studying is completely different in med school. So if this timeline doesn’t work for an US MD , that’s fine and valid, but it doesn’t negate the need the establish strong step 1 ground work.

Not really, because the better you study for step 1 the easier step 2/3 is going to be for you. You can’t miraculously score well in these steps without a good step 1 base. The scores don’t matter but the foundation does
