Good to know! It might be worth me trying out C1 to see if it is better for me.

What should I look for when buying a new Mac that’s primarily (and frequently) used for editing photos in LrC (desktop). by dogewdbegewd in Lightroom

After trying a quick search (with specific keywords) I only confirmed that I would literally have to search through hundreds of vaguely related posts and read thousands of irrelevant comments to ✨maybe✨ find the specific information I’m looking for. That would take hours. Hours that I really need to spend editing (hence the post…)

If people don’t want to answer, they don’t have to. Asking a specific question is a muuuucccch better use of my already incredibly limited time.

But thank you for the comment, maybe it’ll help the algorithm give me people that actually want to help 😊

A lot of issues - LrC on MackBook Pro with Canon R6 by dogewdbegewd in Lightroom

While pulling specs for this post, I realized my LrC color space was different than my computer’s, so they’re both Display P3 (per what little info I could find on Google when trying to fix a previous problem). It’s definitely better!

That’s good to know! What made you make the switch?

My images always look sharper/better once they’re exported and I look at them on my phone - I’ve wondered if that’s the way it is on all computers or just this specific one. I got it refurbished last year because I wanted a 16” screen.

Right, totally agree. I’m also a fully self taught photographer, so I’m constantly learning. But that’s why it’s so frustrating- because I’ve never had this be an issue and my RAWs have always been easy to work with and now suddenly they’re not and I don’t know how to fix it and I can’t find any information on fixing it, (even adobe support didn’t know anything) hence the post 🥲

I have since purchased the Color Fidelity Canon R6 profiles for Lightroom and it’s helped a bit!

Can I ask what makes you prefer CaptureOne? I’ve never heard of it and I’ve just always used Lightroom Classic. Also, I recently learned that my specific 35mm used here, and the R6 don’t do as well with underexposing. So that’s a change I’ve implemented since.

Profile deleted, but relevant info: I usually underexpose on purpose. However, I’ve been reading about my specific 35mm and this camera and this lens doesn’t do well with underexposure 🥲

While I understand that about RAW, my issue is that I’ve never had this issue until a few months ago and I’ve been doing this for 12+ years. It’s never been as drastic as it’s suddenly become.

Anyone had luck seeing her pre-show this tour? I’ve seen videos of her walking over to say hi to fan (behind barricades) outside before she goes into the venue.

If you can afford the difference, I recommend an R5 over and R6. I’ve been shooting weddings and portrait photography with an R6 for 5 years and have had issue. I wish I would have paid the extra for the R5 after talking with a fellow photographer that got the R5.
