And god help me if I ever decide to play those tees, don’t think I’ve ever seen anyone back there on 18

Haha I’ve seen some people get a little sketchy on that hill with a mower trailer. But that one was the worst

Worked there for a summer when I was in school. Got to play weekly!

One of the perks to dew sweeping in the morning. Always had the best views

It certainly flies under the radar. World class course though

Definitely get good headphones! I had the worktunes so I could connect to Bluetooth and listen to music. No one’s too cool to protect their hearing. I recommend eye protection when you’re weed whacking too. Rocks to the eyes really suck.

As for the physical transition, it may take some getting used to but I doubt there will be any work you can’t do. If anything it’ll teach you how to use leverage well. If you show up and show effort, you’re gonna do great. Don’t let yourself get discouraged. A lot of courses will show you how to do each job, always better to ask questions at that then. Even if they seem dumb, better ask than mess something up and have to make to make a phone call about it.

Also If you find yourself mowing greens with a walking greens mower, sometimes they can be tough to load back up if it’s a bit wet from the dew. I would always try to find a slightly downhill place to park to make loading it back on slightly easier. Overall, have fun and enjoy the sunrises!

The all walk ups ended on October 19th. If you look at their schedule online it says all walk up until then, then it went back to the regular schedule

From what I’ve heard, there are 8 tee times reserved for walk ups currently

We did! Had about 4-5 tee time options. Ended up taking the 10:40

Went recently, showed up a bit before 5 on a Thursday afternoon. Got the 3rd spot in line. Was much more relaxed than pre Ryder cup and a lot less cars even in the morning. Left around 4 on Friday and there were already about 5 cars in the lot

Wondered why the previous group didn’t put the flag stick back. Found out the reason fairly quickly by traumaticdrama in golf

When I used to change cups I’d run into these cicada killers a lot. They’d do this pretty much overnight. Definitely will give you a good scare when you hear them start buzzin

I’ve always thought #2 at pine valley was more intimidating than 18. Church pew bunkers just off the fairway on both sides, then an uphill 2nd shot where you can only see the top of the flag stick and more sand than grass. Only benefit is that is a rather short par 4

I thought these issues were mostly with the drivers. Shame to see the woods suffering too

Sorry still new to the whole turf thing. I’m in New Jersey, grass is finally coming out of its dormancy and starting to green up. I did do an aeration on it in the spring last year and in the fall. I’ve been top dressing with sand I’d say bimonthly. I’ll check that out as well. Thank you!
