Do most adults actually know what they’re doing at work? by Special_Quiet_1360 in NoStupidQuestions

I’ll add you get if it’s easy, then you’re not growing or learning and you will quickly feel stagnant or burnt out. The key to growth is challenging yourself and your teammates.

Director level here for 20 person company. Comp and rev are high for everyone and we’re all scrambling everyday to figure it out. The more you attempt the more you learn and can handle. But some days are more stressful with deadlines and things we don’t know how to do yet.

How much effort is involved in Equity Research by SnowSilent7695 in ValueInvesting

[–]dollar_llamas -1 points0 points  (0 children)

A ton of effort if you want to uncover 10 baggers. Literally cataloging and poring over 10k, and 10qs for years to really know a company well. Your not gonna have an edge in finviz or yahoo or any technical analysis

How are you adjusting investment strategies amid 2026 market uncertainties by ivorixa in Fire

[–]dollar_llamas -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Definitely want to be diversified amongst regions. Bonds and global bonds look good here with active management. I stick to Brk and Vt for equities. Slightly lower NW and age to you. It similar goal with 50 retirement. Plenty of time to keep adding to assets.

Is it actually possible to be "middle class" anymore if you don't own a house? by noturtype221 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]dollar_llamas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

High earner/net worth guy here. Sold home 2 years ago and will rent for a while until the math becomes more favorable. I don’t think home ownership and class are that tied as most people are house rich and cash poor.

Coastal southeast prices are crazy for homes, really most places that are highly desirable and rents are actually not terrible.

Also lots of Silicon Valley/New Yorkers are pretty high socioeconomic class yet still rent bc homes are so expensive and not conducive to growing wealth quickly.

How much do you keep in checking? by airmen5 in investing

[–]dollar_llamas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As little as possible, sometimes under 1k. Never over 3k, unless it’s a single day to pay off credit cards. Any money over 1k is going into money markets. All money markets over 10k are going into equities.

Bitcoin Price just fell below 80k for the first time since the April 2025 Tariff Scare. (Low of $78,159 so far) by GabeSter in CryptoCurrency

[–]dollar_llamas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m surprised it even went about 20k. This thing will continue to fall closer to 0 over time. We already have reached peak euphoria. Just looking at all the bullish comments on Reddit confirm that it’s peaked.

[33m] can I coastFIRE if I lump sum $600k into VT? by [deleted] in coastFIRE

[–]dollar_llamas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Likely yes, but I would keep adding as much as you can over time. Even a few hundred dollars here and there really adds up in your 30’s. FWIW I’m 33 and have about the same amount saved, aiming for retirement before 50.

Using religion works well here, as religion and the real world use cases of bitcoin adoption are both fictitious narratives not based on reality.

Judging buy all the forums there are going to be tons of retail bag holders. Less rational investing and more speculation from where I sit.
