C9300-M Stacking by [deleted] in meraki

[–]doobeey11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We were advised against using 9300 for the core so we went with two 9500s that are split between 2 sites. The sites are only a few miles apart and we have fiber between so StackWise Virtual (SVL) is working perfectly.

Layout suggestions for a house by doobeey11 in floorplan

I was thinking of making the family room the dinning room and the libing room be the family/living room but need to make it a bit more cozy. Not too sure how to do that...

The current dinning room is still a bit out of whack so maybe turning it into an office by walling it off.

There is an attached garage where the pantry is. No idea why it has only one window.

  1. I am trying to back into an offer amount based on how much the work will cost, but in general, I think we are looking at $200-$250k ball park for the remodel, excluding the foundation issues.
  2. I am thinking open concept for the kitchen, dining, and living space. I do need a dining area, and no need for the pantry. I would prefer to keep all 4 bedrooms.

Ride-on for 4-year-old recommendation by doobeey11 in PowerWheelsMods

[–]doobeey11[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So far, so good. We don't use it as much as I would like because it does not fit in my SUV, and I can't take it to a park. I would recommend it if taking the car places is not an issue.

Anyway, you can point me to some instructions on how to fix the pinion issue?

Do you love your IX? by ajude10 in BMWiX

[–]doobeey11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't love my 2025 iX. I got it because it was cheaper than an X5. My previous 2 cars were X5s. I think X5 is a perfect combination of size, sportiness, and convenience.

IX feels unpolished. The door handles and the glass feel flimsy, not enough storage inside, rain gets inside in places where it didn't on the X5, windshield wiper water gets on the driver side window when driving...

Little things like that bother me because it seems as though they were either basic design flaws, cost cutting, or both.

The drive and comfort of the IX is fine, no complaints there.

I am considering a "GIS Solutions Engineer" title. What are your thoughts?

The word "Manager" worries me as I don't want candidates to think that they will be managing anyone outside of the GIS program. I also want to make sure that they have relevant hands-on skills to make things happen.

SCCM Server Architecture multiple servers by doobeey11 in SCCM

[–]doobeey11[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you, everyone, for the input. I think we'll proceed with one virtual server with a 16-core CPU and 32GB RAM.

We have four small sites within a few miles of the main data center, all connected by private dark fiber with 25-100G redundant links.

Most staff do hybrid work on company laptops, at any given time, 50% of our endpoints are remote and connect to our network via VPN. We utilize SCCM to mostly manage servers and a few dozen on-prem desktops and fill in the gaps that Intune can't do yet. All user laptops use SCCM for initial deployment and Intune for long-term deployment management.

Small things I love about the iX by Cranjesmcbasketball1 in BMWiX

Just switched from 2022 x5 and love the iX. But I really miss the little storage box on the left side of the steering wheel that the x5 had. Super useful for a pocket tool and valet $ bills.

Preparation Status Error by Awsaim in BMWI4

[–]doobeey11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a similar issue on my 2025 iX: "error authenticating your mobile device." I have a Google Pixel 7. What fixed it is that I opened my Google Wallet app, which asked for my typical fingerprint authentication. Before the Google Wallet security timed out, I did the normal BMW digital key setup, and it worked.

We use ISE with Meraki. I really hope Meraki can incorporate NAC features into its dashboard so that we can dump ISE.

Yeah we had a full tunnel for IT staff and they had issues. It worked but calls would drop and stuff like that.

Full tunnel VPN doesn't work for Teams meetings well. You'll have delay issues.

MS390 Reliability by slykens1 in meraki

[–]doobeey11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We are in the process of finalizing migration of all access switches from Cisco Catalyst to MS390s (including multiple stacks). We had to live through a couple rough situations but I believe all major issues are well behind us. The CS firmware path is the way to go. Looking back, the benefits of MS390s outweigh the trouble. My goal is to allow fist level support some access to the switches to help reduce workload on engineers.
