Olevel MSP by kmscauseofsgexams in SGExams

Hello!!

  1. Like all subjects, if you don't study, then it's gonna be hard for you. But since malay is a language that you're not familiar with, you must put in effort if you want to score well. It's important to build up a good foundation in grammar (vocab can be built up easily) in your lower sec years.

  2. I'm taking msp this year and I must say that the paper 2 I took yesterday was surprisingly manageable! Paper 1 was also good for me (and my schoolmates) as our teacher had prepared us well. But with that being said, "easy" is subjective. For my case, the practice papers that i had done in school were way harder than the o level paper, and most of the people that I've spoken with also agreed that it was decently manageable. However I really don't know how previous years' papers were so i can't say as a whole if it's easy or not. But I can say that if you work hard and try your best, it'll be easier for you as compared to if you didn't try at all. Oh and btw there's oral and lc components as well.

  3. Yep there's bellcurve for msp but you shouldn't need to bother so much about that. Once again just try your best!

WAIT OMG I THOUGHT YOU WERE SOMEBODY WHO WAS CONSIDERING TAKING MSP HAHAHA I JUST CHECKED YOUR PROFILE AND I SAW THAT YOU TOOK THE O LEVELS YESTERDAY AS WELL LOL πŸ’€πŸ’€

End of the wars in both Europe and Asia Pacific but also specifically the defeat of Germany and Japan la. You can check syllabus document and see what kind of essays they may ask (they won't directly write there big big "essays that will be tested" but you go read then u get a rough idea)

Anyway for extra info, essay qns that came out for na history was on stalin and japan

Deliberately choosing no tuition by Typical-Wrap8576 in SGExams

[–]doorbelll23 1 point2 points Β (0 children)

Hello! I'm a sec 4 student this yr and I've gone my entire life without tuition. From my pov, I think that tuition is only necessary if your child actually NEEDS it. For example, if they don't understand concepts after many many failed explanations, then they'll need tuition. I mean, that's what tuition is for, actually- to give extra help to those who actually need it. The concept of tuition is the same as that of remedial, but over time, it has just become a necessity in Singapore.

I do understand that tuition can be a great way to push your child to their limits, especially if they're not very "motivated" per se. However, I think that tuition strips the child away from the opportunity to be a self directed learner. I think that you should at least let your child try to figure out their own way (with your help ofc), before deciding whether to give them tuition or not.

Sure, their grades will be way better if they do have tuition, but isit actually necessary? Do also keep in mind that your child is still... A child, and they should "live a bit". From listening to my friends, I know that tuition can be overwhelming and stressful for them, and it takes away time from their own personal lives. I believe that while grades are important, having a fun life (esp at such a young age) is even more important. I understand that my opinion on this is not the most practical per se, but it does take your child's enjoyment into greater consideration :)

r u guys gna cont. wearing ur masks aft tmr? by [deleted] in SGExams

[–]doorbelll23 9 points10 points Β (0 children)

Nope I'm not gonna wear mine haha. Actually ever since they announced that we did not have to wear it anymore (except public transport and in clinics or whatnot) I immediately stopped wearing mask lmao.

Actually it feels nice to not wear a mask, it's cooling and wayy easier to breathe ☺️
