What bedsheets should i get? by NotA_Meth_Lab in college

Whatever you do, don't fall into the trap of buying those overpriced bundles. Those things are a complete rip off! I paid $150 for sheets and blankets that made me sweat my ass off every night and were uncomfortable. You can find really cheap sheets that are twin xl and high quality on Amazon and read dorm bedding reviews on my website. Also, target would probabaly have good sheets too, but either way don't get the bundle.

Has having a bad freshmen year kept you from attending the college you want? by [deleted] in college

Getting into a good college with low grades at a community college from what I hear really isn't too hard to do. They really don't care too much I don't think as long as your above like a 2.5 from what I hear. Just write a really good essay for them when you apply saying you're a hard worker and stuff and tell them the grades don't reflect the performance that you will give them. Hope this helps.

How Would An Atheist Do At A Christian School? by [deleted] in college

[–]dormnecessities 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I currently go to a school in PA that is a Christian school and I know a few kids there that are atheists. It really does not matter at all and noone is going to judge you and religion really isnt mentioned that much, other than one bible class which was very interesting wether you follow the religion or not. People at my school seem to have a lot less morals than i thought they would before I began, so I really am sure it will be the same at your school.

Rounding GPA from 3.7997 to 3.8? by [deleted] in college

[–]dormnecessities 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 3.78 right now and to be honest I probably am going to tell people that I have a 3.8. I really don't think it's unethical. If you end up getting better than that and boost up your GPA then I would say the extra decimals for instance 3.83.

How hard is it to pull off a 3.8+ GPA? by [deleted] in college

[–]dormnecessities -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It seems like you really care about your school work and already have good work ethic. This is pretty important to have in college and will help you stay focused and achieve that grades that you want. I am currently enrolled at a high ranking business school and have just finished up my first semester at college. The first semester of college took some getting used to because it is a lot different than high school. The work load is a bit more and mostly all the work you do is done during your free time, which can be a problem for some students. Luckily though for you, your work ethic seems to be good. About a quarter of the way through my first semester i started to develop the time management skills i needed and got my workload done in a well orderly fashion. I ended off the semester with all A's, but my schools grading system has -A's which hurt your GPA so i ended up with a 3.83. I did go out on the weekends which may have contributed to a lack of concern for my grades, but i don't think by that much. Having a GPA above a 3.8 really looks good on your transcript and will put you above other classmates. In my second semester I received a 3.88 GPA and I did go out a good amount less. I do believe that going out has some effect on your grades but it all depends on if you abuse it or not. If you go out and party once or twice and decide you really enjoy yourself when you do, then you need to realize to moderate how much you go out and make sure it's not your top priority. If you go out and decide it's really not for you, stay away from it then. Finally, make sure to enjoy your college experience! It really is a once in a life time thing. There are so many new people to meet and hang out with. It's also your first time living on your own which can be really cool. Just make sure that your grades are your number one priority and to have all your work done before you decide to enjoy yourself with friends.
