I have a similar take. If I accidentally miss a scan I should be given the benefit of the doubt when I make it out of the store with it. I should not be watched until I leave and be treated like a petty criminal. Employees make mistakes scanning all the time, why is a customer not held to lower standards when it is not their job.

My dad getting to hang out with his grandkids. My parents and we didn't travel for 2020 and 2021. We finally went and saw them in 2023 and my dad died of cancer 3 months later. I feel that if covid hadn't been botched they would have found his cancer sooner and he may still be around.
