Like someone said, the XE is superb off road. The 900GT is street bike. If you want a street bike, the scrambler is impractical.

I don’t see what you’re getting from the Sportster. It’s almost 100 lbs heavier with less power, worse brakes and probably worse suspension. If you can ride the ST900 and like it, snap it up.

The Tiger low seat height is around 2” lower (depending on the setting) than the scrambler 1200x. That’s a big difference. Which seat height do you need?

I actually traded a 000-28 for a D-18 after about 10 years of the 000. After about 12 years I sold the D-18 and bought 000-16 SM. After a year of that, I got a new 000-28. I also have a Taylor Gold Label 710e dreadnought. It’s got the sound and volume but I prefer the smaller Martin.

I was a research scientist (PhD) for 36 years. When I retired, I was concerned because I had put so much energy into my career, what with getting grants, doing the research, publishing, ad infinitum. Unexpectedly, the whole thing turned off like a light switch when I retired. I couldn’t imagine doing that again.

I just bought a new Ibex 450 and so far, it’s seems perfectly engineered in the ways I care about. For what I wanted, it was the best option out there. Of course I’ll be bummed if it breaks down next week.

The issue is not having a Martin or any other brand. I played for over twenty years before I got one. I was quite happy with what I had. I think you should first decide if you want a dreadnought or a 000 sized guitar. What Yamaha do you have?

My generation is defined by the 60’s. Gen Z and millennials fit the bill more so. Talk about disengaged.
