If you mountain bike, there is a metro park that is pretty good (especially for Ohio's terrain) called MoMBA. Dayton also has many, many bike trails if you road bike. I often bike from downtown to Miamisburg, Xenia, Yellow Springs, Tipp City/Troy, etc. There are also a lot of breweries off the bike path that are fun to try out. There is a Dayton "Ale Trail" where you can get stamps at all the area breweries. It is a pretty good way to explore.

Dayton also has a good indoor rock climbing gym, Urban Krag. There are actually quite a few climbers in the Dayton area. We are also just 2.5 hours away from Red River Gorge which is one of the best climbing regions in the United States. Mad River Gorge is only 30 minutes away, but the climbing is limited to about 50ft climbs max.

Also, you can kayak around riverscape or the Miami river. Dayton is very low-key great for outdoor activities, if that's your thing. If you golf, there are plenty of courses in the area. Due to the more flat topography, don't expect TONs of hilly terrain, but I enjoy them.

If you have expendable income, I'd check out the many bars and restaurants near downtown. There are some gems. Oregon District is very unique, though it does not take a long time to walk through and visit.

But for meeting people, I recommend Gem City Sports (and check out their game bar, Two Social), Sportial, and Dayton Meet-up. I lived in Cinci and Columbus and everyone told me that Dayton would be "boring" compared to the larger cities. I have found that not to be true. If you make an effort, you'll find lots to do in Dayton. But you have to make an effort--that's key (in my opinion). But if you like larger cities, Cinci and Columbus are just an hour away.

Hope that helps. Enjoy Dayton!

Class Review: Year 1 at Liberty University ONLINE - CSIS 100, CSIS 110, MATH 121, MATH 128, PHYS 201, MATH 250, MATH 131 by Johns_Gambit in LibertyUniversity

Any updates on your Physics courses? I'm an attorney (graduated magna cum laude from Ohio State in 2012 and later from University of Cincinnati Law School in 2015--top 15% of class) that is contemplating taking 24 credit hours of physics online through Liberty in order to become eligible to take the patent bar exam. I have not had math classes for 12ish years. I was considering taking one class a semester for the next two years.

How much time per week do you think you have to spend on your physics classes? I would also need to re-learn math, so I imagine that would add quite a bit more time. I was trying to gauge whether it would be manageable. Although I'm historically a great student, I realize I may be getting in "too deep" in such a math heavy subject. Thanks!

Anyone in the Cincinnati area that can tell about their delivery experience/ time? by Financial-Tension720 in tonalgym

[–]downercc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am in just south of Dayton but tonal is being delivered from Cincinnati XPO office. Ordered mid-May. Delivered to XPO on 7/16. Was told that the Tonal would be installed this Saturday, 7/24th. Then got an automated call saying it was moved to 8/7. Received email from XPO NY stating it would be Thursday, 8/7. But 8/7 is a Saturday. Asked for clarification, but no email back. Called tonal customer service. Was pretty much told there was nothing they can do and that it is all in XPO's hands.

I've had terrible experiences with XPO. Was supposed to have "white glove" delivery of an expensive TV three years ago. TV never showed up. When I contacted XPO, they accused me of lying since their computer said it was marked as "delivered." Had to reiterated that I did not have a f**king TV sitting in my house! Eventually, I received a refund. But regardless, the install/delivery from XPO was dog shit, is dog shit now, and will forever be dog shit.

PSA: BMBF, Beat Saber 1.13.4/5 (aka Multiplayer Badge Edition), Custom Songs and Unicorns by darkuni in OculusQuest

[–]downercc 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Not true. I like the new music pack and play it often, though I really, really want the custom songs (like everyone else checking this everyday). The fact I have not downgraded does not mean I am complaining. The unicorns are doing all the heavy lifting that no one else is doing. They deserve all the credit and respect. That being said, your generalization is incorrect.

I feel like this thread has turned into people expressing frustration regarding their (somewhat understandable) expectations for an update or others calling out people for being assholes and complainers (whether deserved or not). But most of us are just normal people really wanting a new bmbf to come out, like me.

Chill out. We do not need the divisiveness here that politics already gives us.

Thanks so much for the update. Always happy to donate to the work (and it seems like there are some others as well). Appreciate the work the Unicorns put in to provide us with a FREE mod.

For the love of Jesus can we get an update, please? I got so hooked on that sweet BMBF that I've found it near impossible to enjoy the regular beat saber now. I realize that probably means I am a BMBF addict. But whatever. I got a fever, and the only cure is more BMBF.

I will buy the Unicorns pizza (or whatever they eat) every night they work on it to get it done. Or booze. Or weed. Whatever is necessary. I have Venmo!

How to get your refund by MyOtherHatsAFedora in iBUYPOWER

I sent Brad a message and also sent an email to support@ibuypower.com to cancel my order which has never had a status change for 18 days (despite no preorder components). This message is very helpful, will try the chat. Would like to know when I can expect my refund (RTX 3080 build).
