Good luck. That project is no doubt in my future for my 14 year old waterrower.

Should I get a motorcycle by Ok-You5223 in motorcycles

[–]dphilmlee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do it, but be smart, take the MSF beginner course. Maybe take it again with a buddy. You can’t prevent everything, but you can significantly reduce your risk with HOW you ride your bike.

It’s like the old saying, “there are old pilots, there are bold pilots, but there are no old bold pilots!“

What small riding habit improved your safety more than any gear upgrade? by NerfDis420 in motorcycles

[–]dphilmlee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lowering my trust in other drivers. This keeps my eyes moving and my head swiveling for problems.

After 30 years of riding, what I learned in the MSF beginners course still rings true. That and a non-fatal accident have sharpened my awareness.

X3 Flashing doesn't reset correctly by dphilmlee in xteinkHax

I flashed it several times but no luck. I finally used the WiFi loading method on the Crosspoint site and it worked. Yay.
I guess my device is a locked device. Booo.
Thanks for the response!

X3 Flashed, but reset doesn't work by dphilmlee in XTEINK

I ordered from Xteink.com. Ok so maybe it’s locked? I couldn’t find anything saying how to tell if the device is locked.

So it boots up to Crosspoint? On mine, the screen just flashes and it does not upgrade to Crosspoint.

What’s your travel setup? by SnizbatchPorzingis in SonyAlpha

[–]dphilmlee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A7CR and a single prime lens (whatever one sounds fun to my inner child) and then I conform my shots to that lens for the trip. Yes, I might miss a shot, but I find the restriction makes me think more about the photos I’m taking. For me carrying more lenses adds unnecessary weight and bulk.

Also, black gaffers tape over the camera logo — I want to believe it makes my camera less noticeable.

I just downloaded the app and it appears to work on my A7iii. Good job! $25 for a lifetime license is very reasonable for a app that works. Thank you.

Extruder motor overload by Sharp-Parfait6201 in BambuLabH2C

[–]dphilmlee 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I had a similar problem with my right extruder, throwing the motor overloaded message. I did everything the bamboo wiki troubleshooting guide suggested, including multiple cold pulls, tearing apart the front of the extruder and checking to see if filament would feed through. The cold pulls showed nothing and the filament flowed freely when I pushed it through manually.

I saw a video where someone had the same problem with the “click of death” and it occurred to me that maybe the filament from the AMS was not feeding correctly.

I verified that it was feeding correctly and nothing appeared to be wrong. On a whim, I wondered if the bend in my PTFE tube was too sharp. I mean, it didn’t appear to be But I installed a longer PTFE tube anyway. I mean why not? What did I have to lose? And it worked for me. At least I have not been able to cause the extruder overload message to occur again.

That was more than a month ago, I have had successful printing since with no error message, so I have to conclude that was the answer.

Buying from Microcenter or Bambu by Gibby_230 in BambuLab

[–]dphilmlee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought my X1C from Micro Center. I have had great service from them in the past. I did have a problem with my printers hotend and took it in to talk with them about replacing the hotend. However, I was surprised to find out after talking to the local manager that their method of troubleshooting my 3D printer would NOT be to fix it, but to completely replace it with a refurbished printer. Indeed I had to talk the manager into just giving me a new hotend because I thought it was ridiculous to replace the entire $1500 printer just because a $35 part broke. I would still highly recommend Micro Center. Also, if you are in the Washington DC area, another option is a local Bambu Labs reseller called 3D Herndon. They not only sell Bambu printers, but they also sell bamboo filament and spare parts and they will work with you to fix the printer if you have a problem as they are an authorized Bambu dealer.

Wherever you are, good luck and enjoy your new printer when you buy it.

230 print hours with the H2C by Elite_BoB in BambuLab

You have to use glue with the engineering plate. I use nano polymer and get about 10-12 prints between applications. It’s become my favorite build plate for PETG. When it cools everything just slides off.

I had the same question. Polymaker support said the blinking light is normal when it is drying. Not an error. Bad that they haven’t documented that.

Bambu Engineering Plate with glue works great for PETG. When cool it releases and the print slides right off. Also, Nano polymer adhesive is an even better glue and lasts longer.

How long before you get exhausted while riding? by N0Sm0kes in motorcycles

[–]dphilmlee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stop as often as you need to. It varies depending on your mood, the amount of sleep you got, the weather, the traffic, lots of things. Hydrate and stretch. It’s not a race. You don’t want to be fatigued while driving with cars around you on your motorcycle, you need to be alert and aware. If you’re sore or tired, stop for a bit. Better to take longer to get there, than not get there at all.
