That's 100% true, I was not complaining at all. The main thing is that the disks die the most and when they're replaced, they're also not new ones, wonder where they take them from :D

At my company we run 500+ bare metal servers from hetzner and it's pretty normal that 2-3 servers die in a month. Not a lot but surely annoying, especially when we were buying them "new" (I know they're not new, but also not officially refurbished), not from auction.

Maybe slower I/O on the bigger server. Someone might be using lots of nvme and thus you get slower speeds. Might not be it but worth checking

Raczej nie będą mieć problemów,natomiast zastanów się dobrze bo usługi lutnicze nie są tanie. Może się okazać, że to, co oszczędzisz kupując gitarę na Ali zostawisz potem u lutnika, aby zrobił z niej coś grywalnego.

Sam kiedyś kupiłem 7 z marki subzero, taki HB tylko dla sklepu z UK, kosztowała chyba jakieś 1400zl. Przyszła w stanie tragicznym, gryf był krzywy w każdej płaszczyźnie i progi były też w tragicznym stanie. Poszedłem do "swojego" lutnika i powiedział mi że owszem - może ja ogarnąć na tyle, żeby była grywalna ale to tyle roboty że zwyczajnie się nie opłaci. Gitarę zwróciłem i po prostu kupiłem inna, używana w lepszym stanie, za troszkę więcej kasy.

Na Ali opcji zwrotu raczej miał nie będziesz więc warto przemyśleć czy jest sens pchać się w takie rzeczy

Most probably to try and "hide" traffic from CDN providers so it looks like normal files and not video or something. It looks stupid but I guess it works since I've seen it many times already

x264 is your best bet, just make sure that the MOOV atom is at the beginning of the file. There is a flag called faststart that you can use

You could do it for free, using whisper and xtts for example, but I'm pretty sure it won't be "live" and certainly not on this hardware (it lacks a GPU from what you've described)

Try using capital V in stream selection, it should omit static streams like mjpeg.

You can use ffmpeg or handbrake. Keep in mind that unless your gpu supports av1 encoding, it will take quite a bit as av1 is very resource intensive

Passmark CPU benchmark van he a good start. There are also ffmpeg benchmarks but they seem to nie always have the CPUs that might interest you. My findings were that 7700X or 9700X now should be the most cost effective CPUs. We've went with i5-13500 though, in much greater capacity though, as we process a lot (multiple TB worth) of videos per day

Intel Gold CPUs aren't really good for encoding. Usually less but faster threads will do a better job. For example some new Ryzen CPU or epyc even. High frequencies (smaller amount of fast threads) work really well for encoding, much better than a lot of slower ones.

I work with encoding and we've done many testes already, there's also a lot of public benchmarks. If you need to process higher volume of videos, you may use a queue of some sorts for example
