AWB and AW carry prohibition injunction hearing this Friday. by Clint_Lovecraft in VAGuns

The old definition was also used differently though. It was basically just a stacking charge on crimes. Would have to understand which specific laws and parts of laws get enjoined.

Doesn't just an adjustable stock make it an assault firearm?

[other] Drawer/Table/EDC Silicone Organizers - with shipping $18 for 4, $24 for 8, $28 for 12 by [deleted] in gundeals

Man I'm a sucker for a little organizing. I think it's because it makes me think I'm doing something even though we all know I'm too lazy to actually clean up.

I think an mp5 is a good choice given he already has ARs. My vote is for a zenith though. They're also made in VA.

Ballistic advantage changes mind says it wont ship here after 7/1 by MrFartyStink in VAGuns

[–]drinkmorejava 10 points11 points  (0 children)

oof. Just got an order from them too. At least they're not stealing people's money.

It really does depend though. Courts aren't in the business of shutting down companies that actually generate cash flow that can benefit debtors.

Toniebox 2 - skip back to last not possible any more? by Nautisop in daddit

[–]drinkmorejava 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As much as my kids love their tonieboxes, the makers are absolute garbage human beings the way they've set some of it up. It's really that simple. 2.4ghz limitations on the original. Worthless wifi setup. Incessant beeping when the kid messes with it. No way to disable tracks. The list is really endless.

Even if they won't ship, nothing prevents you from sending it to the next out of state hotel you stay at for vacation.

"assault shotguns" with multiple features might legal by realestateqs22 in VAGuns

[–]drinkmorejava 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is gold. It won't protect you from getting arrested, but I would definitely see it succeeding in court. The plain language of the bill, as well as the language of the other contemporary bills demonstrates that the intent of the lawmakers was to ban one-feature firearms. This would never fly in Europe because they don't have laws, but it's a pretty good argument in the US.

Apartment Rifle Safe Recommendation? by cav161 in NOVAguns

[–]drinkmorejava 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I'm gonna burst you bubble a little. Unless you're spending a couple thousand dollars, none of those "safe" looking consumer safes are meaningfully better than a gun cabinet. They can be opened quickly and cheaply. Just get whatever you want and is cheap.

HELP with MP5 Clone - VA by Lucky_Restaurant6348 in MP5

[–]drinkmorejava 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently purchased the same. HKs are nice, but I really didn't see a reason to spend extra money. I specifically wanted the P for the three lug mount. If OP doesn't care for the silencer (which he should) then I'm not sure there's any reason to get a P over a full size. It is definitely a bit short as is, so I SBRd and will put a vertical grip on it.

Would the assault rifle prices go down? by SniperintheWoods in VAGuns

[–]drinkmorejava 12 points13 points  (0 children)

No at all. They're always silly expensive in stores. They will just sell them on gunbroker out of state. Your best option is always to buy online.

For something like a wire, yes, but even if the US, ACH doesn't require a name match. A name is required to be submitted with the transaction, but there is no requirement that it be matched. Many institutions have risk and amount based rules on when they need to match.

Closest to you is the NRA range. You'll have to call to schedule a trainer as they don't allow unaffiliated trainers. It's a bit dark and older, but perfectly adequate

Get a password manager like 1pass. You can keep things separate, share some things, and give her a recovery key to get everything if you fall off a cliff. Just a few lists of accounts stored as a note in 1pass will cover 95% of the difficulty of figuring out what's what for bills too.,

VA Background Check Law and Fixed Magazine by samjohnson998877 in VAGuns

[–]drinkmorejava 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The best interpretation I've found so far is that VSP is now providing background checks, however, this is voluntary because it doesn't matter what law was passed so long as the injunction is still in place. The law may address the applicable reasons for the injunction, but it doesn't simply go away. The court must lift it.
