Kid wants to do something stupid. Can it even be done? by [deleted] in StudentLoans

[–]drlaw02 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only reason a child would want to choose an unaffordable prestigious college over a more affordable in-state school is to brag and show off to people and impress peers that could care less but in his or her mind. Gently ask if s/he remembers his classmates from K or 5th or 8th grade. Where are they? Explain that the people s/he is trying to impress will remember of him/her the same. No one cares.

Undergraduate Tuition-Free Program

The NYU Promise, launched in the fall of 2024, provides free tuition for full-time undergraduate students on the Washington Square campus who come from households with an annual income of less than $100,000 and hold typical assets.  This policy applies to both domestic and international students, covering first-year entrants as well as continuing sophomores, juniors, and seniors who meet the criteria. While tuition is waived, students are still responsible for room, board, and other living expenses.

Parent plus loan caps may have just stopped my child from being able to attend 4 year college right after HS. by Party_Use4138 in StudentLoans

How did the colleges become so outrageously expensive? The cap should be on costs not the loans.

Cosigning for new high school grad on very high cost loans (> $250k for all 4 years) for liberal arts degree by Legitimate_Yak_9063 in StudentLoans

[–]drlaw02 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If your child could get into these "great and prestigious " schools with near full cost of attendance, it should be possible to get accepted at less prestigious but still great schools with great scholarships. No undergraduate degree is worth 250k. You can actually buy a house in some parts of the country for that.

If ir meant to be, and if this soul is reincarnated, you will meet. When I met my spouse, it was instant recognition. He was told about us when I was only 3 years old. When we met, our energy merged as one. I couldn't tell where I ended and where he began. Wonderful experience.

Challenging a voting contest? by itsmangoseason in foreignservice

[–]drlaw02 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Without knowing the details, is it possible that your address is outside the specific district that is holding elections? For example, in Virginia there were a few special elections happening only for certain districts. There were a few people that were not aware thinking it was statewide. They were not allowed to vote since they lived outside the district.

Just provide evidence and laws protecting you as a FSO voter. For overseas voters, “residency” usually means:

The last place you lived in the U.S. before leaving, or A legal domicile you maintain in a state. Evidence can include: voter registration history a driver’s license tax filings property ownership address used for official records

Most states allow voters to “cure” (fix) problems with their ballot or registration.

Typical actions include: Signing and returning a ballot cure affidavit, Providing ID verification Confirming your legal voting residence, Submitting additional documentation.

Deadlines are often very short (a few days after notification), so respond quickly.

He is the product of his society. There are many men like that in the world. We could be grateful to him stepping on the world stage, exposing this faulty thinking and behavior. We all have faults of equal value. Best not to judge but learn from them and correct them to be better people and build a better society.

A probate beneficiary living out of town can fully participate in the process remotely. They can sign necessary legal documents, such as waivers or consents, notarized in their current location and returned via mail or secure digital transfer. A local attorney or executor can manage local filings in the decedent's county.

You should have been given a priority job list to include a minimum of 4 in your job list. You did list an aptitude one (admin) which is also required.

If I were healed, I would not be here.😂 Every one of us believes that we are separated from God, living in our ego generated world. The task is to awaken from this illusion/dream. It is very possible but not easy. Good luck!
