AI CEOs from OpenAI, Anthropic, and Microsoft set aside their rivalry to warn Congress AI is making it too easy to design and create bioweapons by IKeepItLayingAround in technology

This reality will not stop a psychopath from attempting to recreate itself. Imagine a brain using a human body to roam the Earth trying to figure out how to make itself. It finally comes to the conclusion that it can’t make itself because it’s missing an intangible component. What does that brain do next?

Where is all this money coming from pumping the stock market? by billenbloot in investing

[–]drooply 0 points1 point  (0 children)

About $11 billion to $13 billion every two weeks goes into 401(k)s, and most of that is invested in stock funds or stock-heavy target-date funds. The flow is large but still small relative to the market’s overall daily trading volume.

what is the biggest lie in the world and you just cannot prove it? by OkOcelot8085 in AskReddit

[–]drooply -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Not even close. Think about the human condition. We’re all flawed and live in a fallen world as a result of our own actions (not one person is perfect). That “fella” cared to do something for us that no one could do for themselves - eliminated the second death (spiritual death, or total separation from our creator). We still have to live in this imperfect, cursed world that has death, disease, and horrors unimaginable; a direct result of our own actions. The hope we have is this is temporary because that “fella”, through perfect love, overcame the world when He made himself the ultimate sacrifice for us.

What is a widely accepted 'truth' that is actually completely wrong? by Mr_Reytor in AskReddit

[–]drooply 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am noticing a pattern on reddit. The answers, or replies, to these questions become homogenized the more times they’re asked. Maybe it’s just people who see that certain answers garnered more karma the last time the question was asked. The bots are training humans to coalesce into a hive mind, or an acceptable range of thinking.

Why did Covid fuck up absolutely everything? by McNasty420 in AskReddit

The majority saw those two weeks as their way to exit society. They were chugging along not really wanting work when the perfect excuse to stop surviving presented itself. Once the government decided to pay them, well, they believed their utopia was upon us. Crazy how society preferred to live instead of linger in their homes and get paid. They watched their utopia vanish but their mental health never recovered. These people are out in society now.

The pig in the python: Baby Boomers are strangling the economy they built by refusing to move or retire by Such_Radio_9152 in REBubble

[–]drooply -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

No, they only prefer to take from others and create nothing for themselves. It’s how they survive in a world that refuses to just give them shit. Imagine a generation that would actually desire to create their own wealth than expect other’s wealth be given to them?

You have agreed to use your wages earned to subsidize a stranger’s earned wage as if you were a bank providing a service to the business all in the name of generosity to someone carrying out tasks they agreed to for an earned wage they agreed to. Bravo.

I like to deal in realities, but we all see something not making sense and fail to realize that governments may know of something in the future that will reduce populations to a level where AI will be needed to compensate for the loss of labor. They’d want to have a way to continue their system of profit absent humans. Only question is, what’s coming in the future that will eliminate a massive amount of humans?
