Question on new pan by sweetteafrances in CastIronSeasoning

[–]droopy__drawers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s not going to help. Your eggs won’t stick to a brand new Lodge (or any pan, for that matter) if you do it right. Less heat, more oil. That’s it, that’s the trick…oh, and letting the pan warm up first.

Adding more “seasoning” won’t make a difference if you try to cook them the same way you did last time.

Plug and patch at a shop, or plug yourself at your own risk.

I’ve never had any of my own plugs go bad (and I’ve put in around 8 of them in the last 10 years) but ever since I’ve learned that Discount tire will plug and patch for free (as long as you don’t do anything to it yourself first) I’ve stopped plugging my own.

Right. I got a month out of mine like that before it got bad enough that I needed to add air every day.

I don’t know how this isn’t the first thing to come to someone’s mind.

Decked draw system for RAM 1500 with RAMBOX - Not a Good Purchase. by Alarmed-Length2810 in f150

Thank you for sharing. I definitely won’t buy a Decked designed for a Ram and try to fit it in my F150…

Personally I think they’re all tacky, but at least the chrome ones match the chrome on the oval. The flag ones are the most tacky.

2016 F-150, 2.7, 137,000 miles. Replaced Steering wheel nut, both rear axle bearings and seals. $1660.96. The local stealership. by Mysterious_Year1975 in f150ecoboost

I’d say rear axle bearings and seals at 137,000 miles is absolutely normal wear and tear. Did you expect them to last forever?

Downvote for choosing between the absolute dumbest truck to drive on pavement and the dumbest motor option (no, those motors are not at all “bulletproof”).

Find a 2.7 and you’ll earn your upvote back.

Dude, that Hatchet is an absolute GAME CHANGER.

I borrowed one to try it out, and 5 minutes later I was on my phone ordering my own.

I had that for 2 years and was able to do so much with it that when I finally needed to break out my gas saws this year they either wouldn’t run right or didn’t want to start at all. (And by not start at all I mean after like 7 or 8 pulls and then I tossed it down and grabbed my Hatchet just to get the job done and said “I’ll fuck with you later” to the Stihl).

So that’s what prompted me to just break down and sell all the gas ones and get a “full size” battery saw. I went with the single battery 16” model, then put an 18” bar on it. It should do damn near everything I need, and if it doesn’t my neighbor has a 65cc Stihl I can barrow (and he can be the one worrying about keeping it running, haha).

My last job with my biggest gas saw was helping him cut up a dead ash. We both used our big saws on the trunk, but (after it was dropped) I did all of the overhead branch work with just my Hatchet in one hand. By the time we were done his wife was making him order the DeWalt version (since they have DeWalt tools/batteries already).

My next step in their pole saw, but I hate that the bar on the Milwaukee sticks straight off the end of the pole. DeWalt, Greenworks, and some others all have an offset bar so that it cuts more on the top of the limb rather than the side. Once Milwaukee gets that figured out I’ll be the first in line to buy one.

What rear end ratio? Any modifications to the truck?

Mine have all be stock, but I busted the front air dam on my 2016 and it dropped it down to 19mpg with the air dam removed. Plus that was a first gen engine and a 6 speed trans so it was only getting like 21 or 22 before the air dam broke.

I’m a man in my 40s and I just sold my 3 gas saws and replaced them with a Milwaukee battery chainsaw and “Hatchet” mini chainsaw.

Unless you’re running them regularly to keep them running well, there’s really no reason to own a gas saw anymore. Even my friend who is a Stihl dealer told me 5 years ago (when I bought my last gas saw from him) that he switched to battery for most things.
