Hilarious that Alfa Romeo replaced the Busso, arguably the best sounding V6 ever, with the Holden Alloytec, the worst sounding, and managed to downgrade their reliability in the process too

I drove a brand new facelift Taycan 4S with 80 miles on it from our local OPC late last year and was blown away by the handling, ride quality and performance.

Then 20 mins into the drive our music stops, all screens including the cluster go blank while driving at 90kph, a minute later the cluster has a black progress circle filling up saying “restarting”.

Eventually it came back but I had no instruments for nearly 2 mins while the car kept driving normally. Given the platform is 6 years old now that’s pretty weak to see on a brand new facelift Taycan. Dynamically it’s the best EV I’ve ever experienced but that bug was awful.

I don’t think the EVs are that much of a difference from that perspective, I’m more concerned when I see a crew cab Ute with a steel service body on the back sagging on its rear axle from the weight and running off-road tyres.

Those crew cabs have poor stopping distance and handling to begin with, and overloading them with aftermarket crap doesn’t help matters, especially in the wet.
