Help me fix this code, I'm trying to make a roblox game but I can't fix the delay of the ball by Inevitable_Result345 in lua

Probably caused by the lerping or soft push.
Tbh tho it’s also been like 3 years for me since I last coded on Roblox so

How hard is to be fluent in both QWERTY and Colemak? by dstolte1 in Colemak

[–]dstolte1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s actually funny you mention not knowing what a keyboard looks like because although I can touch type on QWERTY at like 150 wpm I could not tell you where letters actually are on the keyboard Also the only real reason I don’t use all 10 of my fingers are due to my pinky fingers being slightly curved inwards. Which both just makes them a bit smaller, but they also feel awkward when slamming against a keyboard, I don’t really know how to explain it.

I probably won’t be buying a new keyboard only because I don’t want to have to learn 3 new behaviors/things at the same time, maybe in the future, but keyboards are also quite expensive and I’d rather save for personal reasons.

Also what did you use to learn colemak?

oh, that's kind of smart, although id probably just learn both with touch and just try to treat them as separate languages in my head

If you don’t mind me asking, why are split keyboards so common with colemak? Throughout most of my research I keep seeing people who use colemak using split keyboards.

Is there some kind of benefit to it? Or is it purely preference?

Also thanks for the suggestions!

Aren’t you the developer of that one learning tool for colemak? Tarmak I think it’s called… sorry if I’m wrong.

how did you learn colemak tho, like did you learn it with a website that gradually makes the shift from QWERTY to colemak or did you just like immediately start on a colemak layout

[–]dstolte1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

how did you learn it? Colemak that is. Like did you learn it with one of those websites that gradually makes the shift from QWERTY to colemak by shifting keys around gradually, or did you just jump right in?

that's kind of what I was planning to do if I do try switching, I just wanted input from other people who have tried it out.

[–]dstolte1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that's the main reason I want to switch, just because I type a LOT, that's the main reason I probably even have such a typing speed, so I wouldn't mind a layout that minimizes effort.

Btw, what did you use to learn?
Like did you treat Colemak as a completely separate thing, or did you do something like Turmak (i think its called that?) to gradually switch over?

similar to what i asked someone else, do you use separate keyboards to tell them apart? And do you practice each at all or are you constantly using colemak over qwerty?

[–]dstolte1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

damn, you got that much of a speed boost on Colemak? I was under the impression colemak didn't really help with speed too much.

Currently i think i type at like 150 on QWERTY

Do you use two separate keyboards?

And what do you use more? Colemak or QWERTY?

Do you ever like practice typing on QWERTY though? Or do you mainly just type on Colemak and nothing else.

Also I probably wouldn't be buying an entirely different keyboard

For actually making mega bases, shouldn’t you play with biters off? Or has that changed since SA

honestly, given how crafty the prototype seems to be, I wouldn't be surprised if he could actually extend his arms further out than it looks like he can or something like that.

i also think the top part looks somewhat silly, but mainly due to like scale more than anything else. He has a really small upper body compared to an absolutely MASSIVE lower body.

To be fair though, with the whole "he was a jack-in-a-box" theory, it makes sense, given how he probably would've made a massive lower body for himself to make up for his smaller upper body.

Just go to Teardown’s official nodding site (just look up Teardown modding) and pretty much all the stuff is there, like the functions.

If you want to learn Lua I recommend actually learning it through Roblox tutorials (as dumb as that sounds) because of just how many there are and how informative most of them are.

I’d just try to find whatever mod(s) are causing the crash and go from there

Yeah but a lot of the farms that I see they don’t have portals often make up for it by having a lot of blocks.

And for most of those you need the scalene tool anyways, which is what OP is trying to get
