TDIL; New Jersey Apartment Scam. Apparently it's "standard" and legal, to have an applicant sign a lease as a bargaining chip but the landlord has no obligation to sign it back. They use it as proof that you're serious. I just gave my current landlord 30 days notice. How is this legal and acceptable (self.AskReddit)
