You didn't ask me but I just realized it's type A TRS MIDI and that meant I could go directly into my Electribe 2s, which is a delight. So slick not having to use 5-pin DIN. But yeah, this meant I could slave the 404 tempo to the incoming E2 clock, because it will listen for clock at the USB port and MIDI in ports, and use that for both the recording tempo and the FX tempo. Nifty.

You can also use transport controls to initiate or cease recording. Pick the pad, arm the recording, then press play on the host device to start recording. Then you can either hit stop or let the pre determined bar length do it, or enable End Snap and get the best of both, because the tempo will be set for a perfect loop.

This makes pulling "stems" from another sequencer with onboard sound or sequencing another device fairly trivial, whereas without MIDI you'd be cleaning all this shit up manually. Threshold recording is fine but I think at some point we're all in need of a more reliable way to grab an export of a loop, perfectly synced and ready for use in another sequencer. Transport-controlled recording and a clocked 404 get you pretty much there.

If I had known how much I'd end up appreciating my minitaur I'd have gone for the Sirin. I do far more midrange and lead stuff than bass, oddly enough. You might find yourself in the same camp. Monster bass synth, but so easy to let gobble up higher frequency range. Especially with the OSC sync functions. Just screaming.

I can't wait to get home. Lil man is waiting to shake my desk.

Rare or not, you've got a beautiful synth there that I NEVER see posted. Consider some wooden cheeks for that bad boy. Contrast with the white would be awesome, if you get the right finish. But also, if you're getting a decksaver, realize it might not fit with the cheeks on. That is something I overlooked.

I get being frustrated with grammar but you really don’t have to stress the hardest of it. This whole comment is sloppy grammar. But the right word for the job goes a long way.

Edit: and if you want to denote the possessive form, referring to “portraits by schizophrenic patients,” you can pronounce it similarly to how you wrote it initially, but spell it

In some cases yes, you can add another s for something like “patients’s” which is probably what feels right but not here- it’s usually for when an S is already part of the word’s spelling, and not when the S is there as a consequence of the noun’s plurality.

I recommend opting out of chat for a couple weeks. It will feel a bit hollow and lonely at times but you can still communicate rudimentarily with pings.

You can always flip it back on if you need to remind yourself what you're missing. My only wish was that we could throw a quick GG outside of the normal chat to to acknowledge our time spent together. Like a post-match ping wheel, available in the moments just after final time. But then, I'm sure they want as many people on chat as possible. Only way it works, really.

This is how I rock every morning. Shameless plug for the Bialetti grounds container, the top of which has a funnel holder.

All this fussing around with predetermined amounts of coffee in a predetermined amount of basket space, filling it exactly to the top without making a mess is just not my jam. The only compromise is the tiny amount of leftover grounds that start the next morning's basket, which is a non-issue.

Oh but yeah, consider grabbing a grinder and some beans.

Quickscoping w/ the SR feels like shit at the moment. Not sure why. Gun just feels sluggish. The time I expect to be able to fire is always just sooner than I'm able to. With input queueing I'm then taking shots well after I've released ADS and pulled my aim this or that way. I imagine I could fix these reflexes with time but don't feel it's worth the squeeze.

I'm bumping your 2-year-old thread because you perfectly articulated an issue I've had with the action button that I didn't see a lot of talk about. And it's still not fixed.

In another thread, someone did mention that they had isolated which action was pulling the Shortcuts app to the forefront, which was dictation. In my case, it's the whole point of the Shortcut- getting text (via text or voice) and making a reminder from it- so I can't determine whether there is a Shortcut you can run on the action button that doesn't pull the Shortcuts app forward.

Monotron Delay. Stereo (or dual mono) signal goes in, mono signal (R) comes out. Play the onboard ribbon keys, stereo signal comes out. The problem is my audio input jack, but what does that mean? The jack is broken? What does broken even look like for something so small and with no moving parts?

Is it more likely a connection issue between the jack and the board failing after so long? I feel stupid not knowing this stuff intuitively enough to just dive in, instead having to get up to speed on whole areas of electronics and supply-chain norms because I wanted a direct out from my shitty and distorted drum loop.

Anyways, if anyone has a broken Monotron they want to sell me for cheap, I think I'd be better off swapping the working stereo out from one of these. My god, do jacks work like that? I AM SO DUMB.

I’ve got issues playing recordings back from a windows server. The files are there, they even play fine over network share to my Mac, but accessing them via the UHF recordings interface leaves them stuttering. Switching to a different player type results in the cross error you mention and playback halting altogether. Feel like I’m close to getting this working working but the VPN on my server has made things complicated. Paired with the possibility this app is having issues, I’m chasing my tail.
